Chapter 7

Aphrodite said, "Well, if that's the case, then I forbid my daughter to marry your son." Odin gives Aphrodite a steely gaze, "Did you say that you forbid me, the All Father of the nine realms? I have given my blessing to this union, and it shall take place as planned with or without your blessing or your presence." Aphrodite went to reach for her daughter, but Loki got in between them and gave Aphrodite a hard stare. "You are not taking her anywhere. She's staying here, with me." Hermes walks up behind Aphrodite and said, "Let's leave my dear. We will find another way to prevent this marriage from taking place." Aphrodite stares back at Loki, who doesn't back down. Eventually, Aphrodite leaves with Hermes but he has to pull her away all the while she was staring at Loki and Odin.

After they leave, Serenity lets out a deep sigh, "They finally left but they will be back. My mother doesn't give up that easily." Loki looks at Serenity, "Don't worry dear, they won't be getting back into Asgard. I will personally see to it." In spite of Loki's reassurance, Serenity was still nervous about her parents returning to stop the marriage. Odin saw the worry in her eyes, and said, "Don't worry my child. Your parents shall not return to Asgard as long as I am the All Father. Now you should get some rest. The day of the wedding will be here before you know it." Odin motions for the royal guards and two of them come over. "Take Serenity to one of our best guest rooms and make sure she has anything that she needs." Loki's eyes widened because he didn't want her to be in a guest room. He wanted her to be with him. "Father, why can't she stay with me? We will be getting married in a very short time." Odin looks at Loki with curiosity, "Because my son, it's not proper for her to stay with you outside of marriage." Loki gets annoyed by his father's answer, "But father, I promised her that I wouldn't let anyone get near her and that I would stay by her side." Odin looked at Loki and said, "Son, trust me she will be well protected. I will station guards outside of her door. She will be watched after every minute of the day, I assure you."

However, Loki wasn't happy with his father's decision. "But father I really would like it if she could stay with me. I would feel much better knowing that she's ok if she's by my side." Odin could see that his son was determined to have Serenity with him, "Hmm...well, I guess it wouldn't hurt if she stayed with you as long as she sleeps on the couch." That wasn't what Loki had in mind, but he agreed to it, at least she would be with him. Loki tells his father, "Father, do you think mother has an extra nightgown for Serenity to wear?" Odin said, "I'm sure she does, son. I will ask her when I see her." With that Odin leaves, leaving Loki and Serenity alone.
