Enter Serenity's Brother

Chapter 11

Serenity was still in Loki's chambers; she was pacing the floor wondering when Loki would return. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was going on. Just then she hears something outside the door that sounds like someone being hit. Serenity stood there holding her breath not sure of what was going on outside and too afraid to go and look. Then the door slowly started to open, and Serenity started looking for a place to hide but couldn't find anywhere. So, she ran into Loki's bedroom and hid in the bathroom. Just then the door to the bathroom started to open, and then she heard a familiar voice, "Sis, I'm here to rescue you."

Serenity looks up and sees her brother, Cupid standing there. "Cupid, what are you doing here?" Cupid said, "I'm here to rescue you from the prince who's holding you against your will." Serenity looked confused, "What do you mean 'rescue me'?" Cupid said, "Mother said that you were being held against your will by the prince of Asgard and sent me to bring you home." Serenity said, "I'm not being held against my will, Cupid. I'm engaged to Loki; we are getting married very soon." Cupid puts his hands on Serenity's shoulders and said, "Are you sure? You're not just saying this, are you?" Serenity said, "No, I'm not Cupid. I'm very happy here." Cupid said, "I'll be damned, mother lied to me. I should have known that something wasn't right when she came to me for help because she never comes to me for anything unless she wants something in return." Serenity said, "Mother is using you like she does everyone else." Cupid said, "What a bitch." Serenity said, "Cupid! She's still our mother." Cupid said, "I know but still, it's a bitch."

Just then Loki arrives at his chambers and sees the guard knocked out and he starts to get nervous and worried about Serenity. Once he made sure that the guard was OK, he slowly walked into his chambers looking for the intruder. As he enters his chambers, he hears Serenity's voice, she was talking to someone. He slowly walks around and peeks into his bedroom and sees Serenity with a blonde-haired man and he has his hands on Serenity's shoulders. Instantly, Loki grows angry and bursts through the door.

"Take your hands off of her! Now!" Serenity turns around to see Loki standing in the doorway. His face was red with anger, and he was breathing hard. Serenity said, "Loki, it's OK. This is my brother, Cupid." Loki looked at Serenity and said, "Brother?" Serenity said, "Yes. Brother. My older brother to be exact." Loki asks, "What's he doing here on Asgard and why did he knock out my royal guard?" Serenity said, "Well, it appears that my mother lied to him and told him that I was being held against my will by you and sent him to bring me back to Olympus. As far as your royal guard goes, I don't know why he knocked him out." Loki looks at Cupid, "She's not going anywhere! She's staying with me! Why did you knock out my royal guard?" Cupid said, "Yeah, I know. Serenity has already told me that you are going to marry her. Well, as far as your royal guard goes, I had to get to my sister and that was the only way to get to her. Besides, I didn't hurt him.....much." Loki said, "Yeah, I am and there's not a damn thing that you can do about it!" Cupid said, "I don't plan on doing anything to stop it. I love my sister and want the best for her and if she tells me that she loves you and wants to marry you, then who am I to stop her. Besides, what kind of God of Love would I be if I deny my sister true love?" Loki begins to calm down some. "So, you are not going to take her back to Olympus?" Cupid said, "No, I'm not. In fact, I'm pretty pissed off at my mother for lying to me. She should have known that once I found out the truth that I wouldn't bring her back. She knows how close I am to my sister." Serenity said, "Cupid was lied to Loki. My mother used him just like she uses everybody else. She knew if my brother thought that I was being held against my will, he would come and take me away, but she forgot that I would tell my brother the truth and he would believe me and not her."

Loki finally calmed all the way down and started to relax. "I'm glad that you don't have any intention on taking her back to Olympus because I was ready to fight to keep her here." Cupid said, "Yeah, I could tell that when you came bursting through the door. But you don't have to worry. I'm not taking her anywhere. If mother wants her back on Olympus so damn bad, then she'll have to come herself and take her back because I'm sure as hell I'm not doing it. I'm not going to be her flunky." Loki said, "I'm glad to hear that, Cupid." Cupid smiles at Loki then said, "Well, I guess I'll be going back to Olympus." Serenity said, "Do you have to go Cupid? Can't you stay for the wedding ceremony?" Cupid said, "I don't know sis. You know that I'm a free spirit and I don't like being still for too long." Serenity said softly, "Yeah, I know." Cupid said, "Oh, sis don't do that, you know that I can't stand it when you give me the sad puppy dog look." Serenity looks at her brother sadly. Cupid said, "Oh, alright sis. I'll hang around for a little bit longer." Serenity hugs her brother tightly, "Oh, thank you Cupid." Cupid said, "Yeah, yeah sis. It's alright." Loki smiles at the siblings' interaction.
