Serenity Sleeps In Another Room

Chapter 20

Serenity asks Frigga, "Frigga, may I ask you a question?" Frigga responded, "Of course dear. What is it?" Serenity said, "Well, the All Father said that he wanted me to stay with you until Loki and I are married. Do I really have to do that?" Frigga thought for a moment, "Yes, Odin did mention to me that he wanted you to stay with me until the marriage is over with." Serenity asked, "So, do I have too?" Frigga said, "I'm afraid so my dear. Odin is very strict about these things." Serenity drops her head, "Very well, Frigga. I will do as you ask." Loki who had been hearing the whole conversation between his mother and Serenity said, "But mother, I want her to stay with me. She'll be a lot safer with me in case her parents come back." Frigga said, "I'm sorry son, but your father is adamant about these things. It won't be long son, just a few more days." Loki pouted about not getting his way. "But mother....." Frigga said, "I'm sorry son but it's your father's orders and like I said, it won't be long, just a few days." Loki said, "A few days is going to feel like an eternity without Serenity by my side." Frigga puts her hand on Loki's shoulder, "Son, please try to understand. It's the way that things have to be. It's the proper thing." Loki grumbled under his breath, but Frigga noticed it. "Son?" Loki looks at his mother, "Yes, mother." he said in a grumpy voice. Frigga said, "I know that you don't like this but it's the way that things have to be. It is the way of our house." Loki said very grumpily, "Yeah, I know." Frigga said, "I will let you say good-bye to each other." Frigga steps out of the room.

Loki pulls Serenity into his arms, "I don't like this at all, baby." Serenity said, "I know but your mother is right, it's all a few more days. We can wait that long, can't we?" Loki grumbles under his breath, 'I guess so but it's going to be hard. I'm going to miss having you beside me." Serenity smiles, "I am too." This brings a smile to Loki's face, "You will, darling?" Serenity said, "Yes, I will. You make me feel safe." Loki said, "I'm glad that I do, darling." Loki leans over and kisses Serenity gently. Loki lifts his head and looks into Serenity's eyes, "I don't want to let you go darling." Serenity replies sadly, "I don't want to go but I don't have a choice in the matter." She drops her head after she says that. Loki lifted up her head so that she was looking at him, "Don't be so sad, baby. Like you said, it's only for a few days." Serenity said, "I know......but I was just getting used to you being beside me." Loki smiles and pulls her even closer to him. He lowers his head and buries his face in the crook of her neck. Serenity lets out a soft sigh. Hearing her sigh, makes Loki hold her even tighter. "Gods, I don't want you to leave me, not even for a few days." He said into her neck, his voice hot and full of passion.

Frigga sneaks back into the room and sees Loki and Serenity locked in an intimate embrace. "My dear, are you ready to go?" Serenity turns and looks at Frigga, "I guess so, Frigga." Serenity looks at Loki, "I guess I had better go now." Loki's eyes were full of sadness as he let out a big sigh and huff. "Ok baby. I'll see you later, I hope." Frigga said, "Of course, you will see her later, son. Just because she will be sleeping in my chambers, doesn't mean you won't see her. You will see her around the palace and be able to spend some alone time together. You just won't be sleeping with her, at least not until you are married." Loki lets out another big sigh, "Yeah, I know mother. I'm just going to miss sleeping with her at night." Frigga puts her hand on Loki's shoulder, "Son, I know this is difficult for you, but it won't be for very long, I promise." Loki just shakes his head yes. Then Frigga leaves with Serenity at her side. Serenity looks back at Loki with a sad look in her eyes, to which Loki looks at her with a sad look in his eyes as well. After Frigga and Serenity leave, Loki throws himself onto his bed and just lays there. The sheets still smell like Serenity and Loki couldn't stand it. So, he gets up and goes into the living room, and lays on the couch. He couldn't sleep in his bed because the smell of Serenity's scent was too strong, and it drove him crazy. So, he went and got his pillow off the bed and got some blankets from the closet, then went back to the couch and went to sleep.

Frigga led the way to her chambers, with Serenity following close behind her. "Here we are dear, my and Odin's chambers. Come in my dear. I already have a room made up for you, follow me." Serenity follows Frigga into another room. The room was a nice one, but she still missed Loki. Frigga could tell that Serenity was in deep thought. "Dear, are you ok?" Serenity said, "Yes, Frigga. I.....I was just thinking." Frigga smiles, "About Loki?" Serenity shakes her head yes. Frigga puts a loving hand on Serenity's shoulder, "My dear, it won't be long before you are back with Loki. It's only a few more days. You can still spend time with him before the wedding, you just can't share his bed until you are wed." Serenity said softly, "Yes, I know. It's......... it's just I feel safe when I'm with him." Frigga smiles warmly at Serenity, "I understand my dear, but Odin is very strict about these things." Serenity nods her head yes. Frigga said, "Try and get some sleep my dear. Tomorrow is a brand-new day. Goodnight my dear," Serenity said, "Goodnight, Frigga." Then Frigga leaves the bedroom leaving Serenity alone with her thoughts of Loki.
