Chapter 16
Once Cupid was ready, he, Serenity, Loki and Thor went to the throne room. When they arrived, Odin was waiting for them. Odin said, "Thank you for coming, Serenity." Serenity said, "You are welcome, All Father. I have brought my brother, Cupid with me because I hope that between the two of us, we can convince our grandfather that our mother is lying." Odin said, "Yes, I hope you are correct, Serenity. I do not want to fight with Zeus, but I will if I have too." Serenity said, "Hopefully, it won't come to that, sire." Loki asked, "When is Zeus supposed to come, father?" Odin said, "His message didn't give an exact time, it just said that he would show up today." Cupid said, "Knowing my grandfather, he will probably make us all wait. He doesn't get in any hurry, unless he feels like it's really important." Serenity said, "Then he will definitely be here soon. Because if my mother told him that I'm being held against my will, then that will be enough to make him come quickly." Odin said, "You are not being held against your will. You willingly agreed to stay here on Asgard and to marry my son." Serenity said, "Yes, I know that All Father, but my grandfather doesn't. All he knows is what my mother tells him, just like she did with Cupid."
Just then there was a commotion outside the throne room doors. Serenity said, "He's here, All Father." Cupid said, "Yeah, that's him alright. He always likes to make a grand entrance." Suddenly the big golden doors flew open, and in the entrance stood Zeus in all of his glory. He wore a white and gold armor with a crown upon his head. "ODIN!!!!!" Zeus' voice boomed. Odin stood his ground. He stood up from his throne and said, "Zeus, have you no manners? You are supposed to be announced before entering my throne room." Zeus laughs, "Zeus doesn't wait to be announced. He comes and goes as he pleases......All Father." Odin and Zeus have a stare off. The tension was so thick in the room, that you could cut it with a knife. Suddenly, Zeus throws a lightning bolt at Odin, which he uses his staff Gungnir, to block it. There were lightning bolts flying everywhere from Zeus, as Odin used Gungnir to block them. The whole throne room was lit up with flashes of Zeus's lightning bolts and Odin's magic. The fight seems to go on forever. Just then, Zeus yells, "Where is my granddaughter!!!" Odin motions towards Serenity. Serenity said, "I'm here grandfather." Zeus said in an authoritative voice, "Come. We are leaving!" Serenity said, "No, I'm not grandfather." Zeus gives Serenity a cold stare, "What do you mean, you are not coming?" Serenity said, "I mean I'm staying here on Asgard and marrying Loki." Zeus looks at Loki, "You have used your magic to trick my granddaughter into falling for you, remove your spell at once!" Before Loki could respond, Serenity said, "He has done no such a thing, grandfather. I love Loki and I want to marry him." Zeus stares at Serenity once again, "That's not what your mother has told me. She said he is forcing you to stay here against your will. You are only saying this because you are afraid of him, but you don't have to be afraid anymore, granddaughter." Serenity said, "You are wrong grandfather, I am not afraid of him. I love him. If you don't believe me that my mother has lied to you, maybe you will believe your grandson." Zeus just now notices Cupid standing beside Serenity, "Cupid, what are you doing here?" Cupid said, "I was lied to as well grandfather. Mother told me the exact same thing that she told you and I came here to get Serenity, but when I saw just how much they love each other, I decided not to take her back to Olympus." Zeus stares at Odin, "Your son has bewitched my grandchildren. Make him release them at once!" Odin said, "Loki has done no such a thing, Zeus. I would know if he had, and he has not. You need to face the truth that your granddaughter is in love with my son, and that your grandson has seen through the lies of your own daughter." Zeus stares at them.
Serenity said, "Grandfather, mother has used and lied to you, just like she has done with everyone else who stands in her way." Zeus said, "Can this be so? Have I been deceived by my own daughter?" Odin said, "Do you now see the truth, Zeus? My son has done nothing wrong, and we are not holding Serenity against her will. She has chosen to stay here and marry my son." Loki finally speaks up, "I think you need to go to your daughter and demand her to tell you the truth." Zeus said in a much calmer tone, "Perhaps you are right, son of Odin." Serenity said, "His name is Loki, grandfather." Zeus said, "Of course, Loki." Cupid asked Zeus, "Are you going to confront mother, grandfather?" Zeus replied, "Yes, I am. As soon as I leave here. I will get to the bottom of this." Zeus turns to leave then stops, and looks back at Odin and Loki, "I am sorry for my daughter's behavior. She has disgrace me for the last time. She will be dealt with severely. I am not a god who likes to be made a fool of, especially by my own daughter." Zeus walks over to Serenity and puts his hand on her cheek, "I expect to be invited to your wedding." Serenity looked over at Loki, who nodded yes. Serenity said, "Of course, grandfather. I would love to have you here for my big day." Zeus looks up at Odin, "Until we meet again Odin." Odin nodded yes. Zeus then turns around and leaves the throne room.
