Chapter 73: Travel

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Hua Zhi and Shao Yao stepped out of the medical clinic. Chu Shi Tang escorted them down the steps, his voice warm. "Shao Yao, if you ever have free time, please feel free to visit me here."

A hint of ambiguity lingered in his words, and he quickly added, "Come and discuss medicinal prescriptions with me whenever you like."

Thrilled at the prospect of discussing medical formulas with someone other than her master, Shao Yao's excitement was palpable. She nodded eagerly. "I will definitely come again, Physician Chu. Please don't mind my frequent visits."

"Of course not," he replied warmly.

As they climbed into the carriage, Shao Yao tossed aside her veil and clasped Hua Zhi's arm, her eyes sparkling with delight. "Physician Chu is not only skilled in medicine but also a kind person. I want to visit him again soon."

Hua Zhi smiled. "You seem very happy."

Shao Yao nodded vigorously, her enthusiasm infectious.

Hua Zhi originally wanted to remind her to remember to bring a personal bodyguard when she came over, but looking at her expression, she couldn't say anything, thinking that she would just remember it later. She said, "When we come back from the north, I will take you to Physician Chu's house to pay a visit. You must greet Madam Chu properly."

Shao Yao nodded with a smile, "I will listen to you, Hua Hua."

Hua Zhi increasingly felt like she had raised a cheap daughter...

On the day they left, the entire Hua family was more lively than usual.

Several senior maidservants went in and out, repeatedly tidying up and checking things, afraid of missing anything. If they could, they would have gladly made the trip for the young lady.

Hua Zhi wore a riding outfit with trousers and leather boots, her hair all tied up on top of her head, looking androgynous handsome.

Zhu shi couldn't bear to part with her daughter, but because she couldn't bring herself to stop her daughter from going and worried about her husband, she wandered around her daughter like a headless fly.

Hua Zhi didn't say anything either. She sat down in front of the dressing table and began to put make up on her face in the mirror. After just a moment, she concealed her overly striking appearance, looking like a slightly delicate young man.

After looking around and feeling satisfied, Hua Zhi put down her eyebrow pencil and picked up a few items from the dressing table to the side, signaling Liu Xiang to put them away. These were all things they would need on the road.

"Zhi'er..."

"Don't cry." Hua Zhi was helpless, she had no way with her soft-hearted mother. "I'm not going to be gone forever."

"Spit, spit, spit, childish words will be blown away by the wind." Zhu shi scolded her before they left.

Such words were inauspicious.

Hua Zhi pulled her mother to sit down. "Go call Bai Lin, let's have a family meal together."

Hua Bailin was standing outside the courtyard gazing up at the sky, as if being sad like this would lessen the pain and tears wouldn't fall.

As the eldest brother in the family, the teacher of the younger brothers, he no longer had the right to cry.

Hua Zhi knew him well and didn't expose the strong-willed young man's act. She waved to him, "Come over and have a meal with mother and eldest sister."
