Caitlyn was trudging through a dark forest path. She had been for... A while now. Ever since that thing took her body, she's been in this hellscape. A forest path that leads to nowhere. Behind her is nothing, behind the trees, nothing.

There's nothing left for her.

The worst part was the memories. Every once in a while, a memory would play back in her mind of her mistakes. Of her family.

It's been like this forever. An endless tunnel of regrets and sorrows. Never leaving her alone. Never letting her forget who she left behind.

Still one day, she heard crackling. Looking to the right of her, a tree was on fire. The flames were as black as everything else aside from the trees were. But unlike the rest of the darkness. The flames brought a sense of comfort. A comfort she hadn't felt for a while. A comfort she had only felt with Jasper.

It was nostalgic. She sat down and looked at the flames, unbothered by how it burned away at the forest she had called her personal hell for a while now. The fire started to consume her as well. She welcomed it with open arms.

As everything she'd known for the past few years was burnt away, she heard a voice.

ᴡᴀᴋᴇ ᴜᴘ.

Caitlyn woke up in an unfamiliar bed. She looked around the room. One she'd never seen before. She looked at her paws, now grey and discolored. And right above her, was Jasper.

Jasper: "Caitlyn...?"

She opened her mouth to reply, but no words found their way there. So she nodded, mouth agape. A part of her thought she was still in the hellscape, And this was another memory. One where Jasper repeatedly scrutinized her of what she did.

A tear fell on her face, her ear twitched.

Jasper was crying. She'd never seen him do that.

Caitlyn: "...J...as...per?"

Her voice wheezy, and she almost coughed if not for Jasper's neck wrapping around her own.

Jasper: "You're alive!"

Another thing was made clear to her.

Caitlyn: "Can't...fe-el...legs."

Jasper stiffened, but relaxed after a few moments.

Jasper: "...It'll be fine. It's fine.

A Luxray entered the small room that consisted of nothing but a bed. He almost dropped his papers after seeing her looking right at him.

Trace: "She shouldn't be awake yet. A side effect of Denith's flames maybe?"

Jasper looked to the Luxray, Caitlyn already missed his warmth.
