"Deborah! Take the next order for table number six!!" I heard Flynn call from the counter where he was currently sat as he dwindled with the cash.I quickly muttered an "okay" as I strode over to the table of high school kids. It's been two days since we 'officially' began working at the restaurant. Flynn explained that we needed some immediate cash which would possibly be our financial support. I did agree with him on that. We needed money for sustenance. Well, we do need to survive at least until we could find Regen's parents. After that, perhaps it's an end. The end of our lives. But I haven't thought about my demise for long. Flynn and Genie managed to do that for me. All I knew was that I never would want to return to Len or my parents even if it meant being with Flynn who I had acquainted not too long ago.
"Welcome to La Domestica! What can I get for you all?" I asked the bunch of teenagers whose attention was now focused on me. I noticed a few guys giving me a once over whilst the girls scrutinized my appearance with a glare.
"You." A boy with dirty blond hair answered with a cheeky grin as the others laughed at his remarks and slapped him. on his back appreciatively. "We would like to get a piece of you."
I threw a dirty scowl in their direction as disgust was clear on my face. Ugh, teenagers and hormones.
"If you don't mind, we would also like to get your number." This time it was a green eyed boy with a baseball cap who had adorned a smug look on his face. Oh, how much I wished I could wipe that off with a punch.
I clenched my fist and jaw tightly as I withheld my fury. "Look, if you want to order food, go ahead. If not, then I may ask you to leave and your flirtatious remarks are not strictly permitted or appreciated." I said as civilly as I could.
"You just sound like Principal Morris. I bet you're his daughter." A beach blonde with fake tanned skin suggested with a shudder.
"Hey cutie, I think I lost my number. Can I have yours?" The baseball capped boy used one of the cheesiest pick up lines to get my number. How freakin' pathetic. I bet he thought I was some easy hook up types. Maybe he thought every girl was desperate for his attention. I was going to prove him wrong.
I cleared my throat. "I'm gonna say this one more time. Order food or else leave at once. I'm not a tiny a bit interested to give away numbers."
The dirty blond haired boy smirked at me. "Sure you are not. Playing hard to get only makes us chase you more. Because it's torture."
"Yeah. Now come on, it's not like you can resist these, so you would wanna have some fun time." The baseball capped guy winked at me as his lips twitched in smugness. That boy had a bad case of narcissism.
"I can't do-"
I was cut off by Flynn. "What's happening, babe?Any problems?" He looked at the boys in question. My cheeks did burn at the endearment which I have familiarized myself with as we played the role of a happy family.
"Nothing. It's just-"
"I was asking for her number. Got problems with that, pretty boy?" The baseball capped boy gave a challenging look towards him.
Flynn draped his arms around my waist instantly pulling me closer. "Oh yes I do." He was killing the boy with his death glare. "She is my girl. Even if she wasn't, she would never go for scrawny little dipshits like you."
I saw the girls batting their eyelashes at him but he paid no attention. The boys got up in rage and the girls quickly followed them like a puppy.
After they left, I turned to him and rolled my eyes. "You didn't have to do that, you know. I can handle high school kids. I am not that fragile."
