It was officially three weeks since that night at the bridge where I met Flynn. And I guess that night changed everything including me. I was a havoc, a quivering earthquake, a painful disaster. And that night was the wave that I was longing for. The wave that could take me back to the shore where I could escape the storm which came in the form of Lennox. At the moment, Flynn was sat on the couch alongside Genie providing her assistance in solving first grade math problems. Genie was a genius but she loathed Math as she said it got her brain fried and grilled. These days, all Genie talked about was school, her friends and of course, spongebob.
Flynn's eyes flickered between the football game on the telly and Regen's math book in his hands. I smiled fondly at the scene.
"How can you borrow numbers?!!" Genie said in exasperation throwing her hands in the air.
Flynn then proceeded to calm her down and gave her an explanation in the softest voice possible. Flynn was amazing with kids. I could guarantee that he'd be a good dad to his daughters or sons.
A while later, Genie isolated herself away from us and headed to the room for a goodnight's slumber. It was a school night after all.
I tucked her into the bed and wrapped her with thick blankets. This had become a routine for me. Genie's school was a few yards away from the diner. Classes usually began around eight a.m and a sleepy and drowsy faced Flynn always dropped her at school. My ears suddenly perked up at the sound of Flynn howling and jumping up and down the couch with a pure ecstatic look apparent on his features. "We won!! woooohoooo!!"
I cleared my throat grabbing his attention. Flynn averted his eyes away from the screen and turned to look at me. A huge grin was plastered on his lips which made him appear ten times attractive.
I snorted at the plain sight of his fists pumped against the air as he stood on the couch. Somehow he managed to look hilarious. As well as hot.
Did I just think that?
"Well, I am a Liverpool fan in English premier league. You can't blame me for being crazy over the fact that they won." He shook his shoulders as if in disdain.
"Too bad I don't watch English league." I remarked.
He quirked an eyebrow at me in amusement. "Oh, so you do watch football?"
"Yeah. Only Spanish league." I rolled my eyes at him.
"That's impressive. So you do like football?" He was now resting on the couch facing me as I played with the ends of my hair.
"I wouldn't watch it if I never liked it." I threw a dumb look in his direction.
"I never pegged you for a tomboy." That half smile was back on his face. Glad to know that he was really entertained with this simple piece of information.
"Just because I watch football doesn't make me a tomboy." I said as my eyebrows scrunched a little. "Besides I had a brother, remember. Well, adoptive big brother who was my only friend."
He smirked at me as he said, "Remind me to take you to one of those games."
"Yeah, whatever."
I was just about to go to the room for putting on my night clothes when Flynn grabbed my hand.
"I have a perfect idea in mind." His eyes were wide and crinkled at the corners as he beamed. There was a slight wicked edge to it which I failed to notice.
