Numbness was a funny feeling. The feeling of not feeling anything at all was a well known initial response to a twisted situation.

Numbness was when your world start twirling in its own axis against the world which was painfully ignorant of your situation. There were many things to feel and I failed to pick out what I felt at the moment when truth punched you in the gut real hard.

I felt Betrayed. Hurt. Lost. Aghast. Paralyzed. As if my heart was stamped and tattered all across. And I was the butt of every joke.

My hands suddenly became tight around the backrest and my breathe sucked in deep with my mind unable to function no more. My vision began to blur and my feet felt woozy as I felt everything within me falling into shreds. Yet I knew I had to battle it and find strength to withstand the slaps that came in the form of brutal truths.

Then I saw Margo or Paige standing a feet away from me wearing her devious, sadistic grin as she reveled in seeing the pain on our features. The heavy silence resembled that of a humungous load kept in your shoulders. The one to make you feel out of breathe and life.

"Now, here comes the crux." Her narrowed pupils tore through us with her razor sharp glare. "You will take the blame for the kidnapping."

She kept her words deliberate and slow at a menacing attempt to abide to her. Her face bore no emotions and her eyes were like a black hole trying to suck us into into its depths. She then took a step closer to Genie who stood composed but her little deep green eyes gave away the fear.

Paige ran her hands softly through Genie's fiery red curls in an affectionate manner before the hold tightened on a clump of hair leading Genie to escape a sound akin to a gasp.

"Or she dies."

Her words barely registered in my head before I saw Flynn clench his fist in all his tied up glory ready to attack and destroy like a caged wolf. I could feel the burning fire of a rage emanating off him. I would be lying if I said I wasn't the same as him.

Genie may have been playing us all this long and stringing the chords of our already shattered hearts. But she still remained the sunshine in our darkest hours, the warm bonfire in our cold forest of a life. I loved her to bits and pieces even if she was nothing but trouble. If it wasn't for her after all, I wouldn't even be breathing. I wouldn't have had visited my family or found love again.

She was our little girl.  Nothing could ever change that. Not even Genie herself. She was legit magic.

"You can't do that." Flynn hissed in his seething form.

"Oh darling, I gave birth to her and I have all the rights to take  her away too." Paige's laugh echoed through the silent chambers of the warehouse imparting a haunted effect. "You can make the decision now, Raymond. Spend life in prison or spend life in guilt of having unable to prevent a death of a young innocent soul? Make a choice." She clucked her tongue against her upper front teeth.

Without a second thought, Flynn nodded his head. "Okay. We will agree to an uncommitted crime." His voice mocked his face—as it was a walking contradiction with the way his injured jaw was tightened and fists clenched.
