Meanwhile...
Back at Holy Waters Primary School, Balin and Matt were putting their schoolbags on the racks outside their homeroom, after giving their sleepover luggage to Principal Astor so he could keep them in his office until the end of the day.
Soon, as Amy put hers on the rack close to hers, which was a few doors closer to the boys', she shows a smile... before getting a sweet idea.
"Hey, Balin! Wait up!" she called out to the two.
"Oh, hi Amy." Balin was surprised how he didn't stutter around her as much this time, but kept talking. "What's going on?"
"Listen, um... I really wanna thank you two, for welcoming me." she said in a sweet tone. "Even if Matt invited me to feel welcome."
"So that's how you came along?" he asked tilting his head in surprise. "He texted you?"
"What else would've happened?" said Matt, playing innocent. "We don't have social media. Yet."
The three kids all laughed together, until a monitoring teacher passed their way.
"Ahem!" he cleared his throat with a small grin. "That bell means 5 minutes until homeroom starts."
"And... how many minutes do we have left?" asked Matt.
"Hmm, let's see... t-minus; march." the teacher then spoke back calmly, before leaving the kids to do just that.
"I'll just take that as two minutes." shrugged Matt.
"Okay, in that case, all I wanna ask is..." Amy then took a deep breath as she then asked her new friend "Would you like to study with me and my friends during lunch today?" showing a wry smile.
Balin's eyes then widened as he blushed. "Really? You want me to...? Oh, uh, only if..."
"Of course I'd like you to." replied Amy with a little giggle.
"I knew that." Balin said. "I just thought would it be okay with, your friends."
"Oh, they've been wanting to meet you anyway, since the news on how you returned after... living life in Hell." she then whispered that part to him. "They'd be happy to have you. Just... as much as I would."
Both Balin and Amy's smiles then went from wry to warm looking at each other.
"So..." intervened Matt, the third wheel. "What'll it be, mate?"
"Uhm..." Balin was about to decide, when suddenly...
BARK! BARK! BARK, BARK!
"Huh?" Balin heard some woofs coming from right behind the group. 'Far' behind them.
It was then revealed to be the kindergarten class' personal Alaskan malamute, running straight towards the kids in the speed of a lion. He was still covered in some remnants of apple juice, but only with little mange now.
The dog then pounced on Balin, pinning down by his shoulders before he sniffed him.
"AHH! He came and got me!" laughed the boy as the dog started licking his face, roughly but playfully. "It tickles! More than Loona's licks!"
Matt showed a 'no kidding' smirk to Amy, while she just watched in awe of this adorable moment.
"Hehehehe, come on, down. Down..." Balin soon said as the dog moved off of Balin's body as he wiped the slobber off his entire face. "Sit..."
The therapy malamute then sat down, happily looking into Balin's eyes as he stood up and gently petted his fur.
Soon, one of the kindergarteners came along with a leash and attaching it to his collar.
