Your heart pounded in your chest, the words echoing in your mind: I'm not Felix.
Your pulse raced as you yanked your arm from his grasp and stumbled backward, nearly tripping over your feet. The man—or whatever this was—looked like Felix, but his presence felt off, as if an invisible shadow clung to him.
"What do you mean?" you stammered, backing away further. "This isn't funny, Felix."
He tilted his head, eyes narrowing as if amused by your fear. "Felix can't hear you anymore. He's gone," he said, his voice low and almost gleeful. "But don't worry, you're not alone. I'm here."
You tried to bolt for the bedroom door, but before you could reach it, the lights flickered, plunging the room into complete darkness. The only sound was your panicked breathing and the quiet, deliberate steps of the figure approaching.
"I've been watching you for a long time," the voice whispered from somewhere in the darkness. You could feel the air shift, as if he was right behind you. "I've seen how you trust him. You shouldn't have opened the door tonight."
Suddenly, you felt a cold hand brush your shoulder. With a gasp, you whirled around, but there was no one there. The room was empty—silent.
Then, from the corner of the room, a low laugh echoed. Slowly, a figure emerged from the shadows, tall and menacing, his face no longer fully resembling Felix's. His eyes glowed faintly, as if something unnatural had taken residence inside him.
"I don't want to hurt you," the figure said, a dark smile spreading across his face. "But I do want something... You see, Felix made a deal. A very bad deal. And now it's time to collect."
You couldn't move. Couldn't speak. Fear rooted you to the spot.
"He traded his soul to protect you once. But now, it's your turn to pay."
