As the sun climbed higher in the sky, the group finally settled down on the beach, the cool morning air shifting into the warmth of midday. With JYP's dramatic exit still lingering in your minds, there was a quiet sense of relief mixed with exhaustion. For the first time in what felt like forever, there was no immediate danger looming over you, and the team could finally relax.
Felix sat beside you, his arm draped over your shoulder, the two of you leaning back on the soft sand as the waves gently rolled in. Neuvillette had settled a short distance away, still lost in his thoughts, though he seemed less tense now. Daddy Hello Kitty Batman was doing an exaggerated stretch, seemingly proud of his earlier performance in both combat and comedy.
"This beach is actually pretty peaceful now," Felix murmured, glancing down at you with a soft smile. "Maybe we can take a real break this time, no more interruptions."
You snuggled closer to him, the warmth of his body and the sound of the waves making you feel at ease. "That sounds perfect," you whispered. "I wouldn't mind staying like this all day."
Felix chuckled softly and pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead. "Me neither. I could get used to moments like this."
As you two shared the moment, Daddy Hello Kitty Batman strutted over, dropping down in the sand beside you with a loud sigh. "Alright, lovebirds, as much as I enjoy watching your little romance unfold, we still need a plan for what comes next."
You raised an eyebrow at him. "Seriously? We just defeated JYP—again. Can't we take at least one day off?"
Batman waved a hand dismissively. "Sure, sure. But I'm just saying, a superhero's job is never done! You never know when the next villain might pop up. I'm ready for anything. Plus, I still got a ton of bad jokes up my sleeve."
Felix rolled his eyes playfully. "I think we're all good on the jokes for now, Batman."
Neuvillette, who had been quietly observing the ocean, finally spoke up. "Batman does have a point, though. We should always be prepared. But... perhaps just for today, we can allow ourselves a moment to enjoy this peace."
Batman smirked. "Look at that, Mr. Serious is starting to lighten up. Maybe we really can relax today."
You leaned your head against Felix's shoulder, smiling as the conversation continued. For now, it seemed like the world had granted you a small reprieve from the chaos, and you intended to enjoy every second of it.
Hours passed, and as the sun began to dip toward the horizon once more, the beach was bathed in golden light. The team had spent the entire day resting, laughing, and enjoying each other's company, a rare moment of tranquility in the midst of all the craziness.
As the night approached again, Felix turned to you, his eyes glinting with a softness that made your heart flutter. "I know we've been through a lot lately, but I just want you to know... being with you like this makes all of it worth it."
You felt your cheeks flush as his words sunk in. "Felix..."
He gently tilted your chin up, pressing a soft kiss to your lips before pulling you close. "No matter what comes next, we've got this. Together."
Before you could respond, a loud voice interrupted the intimate moment.
"What are you two lovebirds doing here this late?"
You both turned to see none other than Shrek, back in his lifeguard gear, standing with his arms crossed and a playful grin on his face. "Didn't I tell you this ain't a nap zone?"
Felix groaned, laughing despite himself. "Not again!"
Shrek chuckled, walking over and sitting down with you. "Don't worry, I'm not kicking you off the beach this time. Just making sure you're not up to any mischief."
Neuvillette, who had been watching from a distance, rolled his eyes dramatically. "It's a wonder we get anything done with these interruptions."
Shrek smirked. "Hey, I'm just doing my job. But I have to say, you lot are the weirdest group I've seen in a while."
"Weird is an understatement," Daddy Hello Kitty Batman added, joining the conversation with a smirk of his own. "But hey, it keeps things interesting."
The sun finally dipped below the horizon, casting the beach in a warm twilight glow. As the stars began to twinkle in the darkening sky, the team relaxed into the evening, feeling the weight of the day lift off their shoulders.
Though you knew there would be more battles ahead, for tonight, it felt like the world had given you all a small piece of serenity. And with Felix by your side, nothing seemed too daunting.
As you leaned back into Felix's embrace, watching the stars with your friends around you, you couldn't help but smile. Whatever came next, you were ready.
