As the team continued to bask in the success of their newly minted name, Darkness Retribution, the conversation shifted, becoming more laid-back. The sun had set completely now, leaving a soft glow from the moon casting shadows across the landscape. Felix sat next to you, his arm draped lazily over your shoulder, as Daddy Hello Kitty Batman leaned against a tree, staring into the distance with a pensive look.

Freddy, chomping down on yet another sandwich, looked over at Daddy Hello Kitty Batman and raised an eyebrow. "What's with the brooding face, man? You look like you've got some heavy stuff on your mind."

Daddy Hello Kitty Batman sighed deeply, letting out a breath that sounded like the weight of the world was on his shoulders. "You know," he began, voice low and serious, "there's a lot about me you guys don't know. Things... from my past."

Everyone quieted down, even Emo Jesus, who had been playing with his drink, looked over with some interest. Neuvillette, ever composed, folded his arms, waiting for whatever story was about to unfold.

Daddy Hello Kitty Batman glanced down at his Hello Kitty balloon, as if drawing strength from it. "It all started on a rainy night, years ago," he began. "My wife had just left me..."

Neuvillette raised a hand to his mouth to stifle a chuckle but was unsuccessful. "Womp womp."

Daddy Hello Kitty Batman shot him a glance but continued. "Anyway, yeah, she left me. Packed her bags and said she couldn't handle the 'dual life'—the hero by day, Hello Kitty enthusiast by night. She said I was... complicated."

Freddy bit into his sandwich awkwardly, unsure of how to react to the vulnerability.

"But that's not the worst part," Daddy Hello Kitty Batman said, his voice growing darker. "That same night, as the rain poured down, I found something—or rather, someone. Toe Pedeos. He was lying on the side of the road, barely conscious. He had been abandoned, like me. Just a small, hopeless toe, struggling to survive."

Freddy and Felix exchanged confused glances, while Neuvillette raised an eyebrow, clearly more curious now.

"I took him in, cared for him, nursed him back to health," Daddy Hello Kitty Batman continued. "And we've been together ever since. He's more than just a toe... he's family. He's been with me through the highs and lows, through every battle. And even though I lost my wife... I gained something much more important." He clutched his Hello Kitty balloon tighter. "Loyalty, companionship... everything Toe Pedeos represents."

There was a brief, heavy silence as the team processed what they had just heard. Emo Jesus dramatically dabbed at his eyes, pretending to be moved, while Freddy just stared in disbelief.

But Neuvillette, ever the sharp-witted one, broke the silence with a monotone, "Womp womp," barely hiding the smirk on his face.

The entire group burst into laughter, unable to contain themselves. Even Daddy Hello Kitty Batman couldn't help but crack a smile, though he shook his head in mock disappointment. "You're lucky I've got a good sense of humor, Neuvillette."

Felix leaned in closer to you, trying not to laugh too loudly. "This group, huh? Just when I think we can't get any weirder..."

You smiled, resting your head on his shoulder. "Yeah, but you love it."

He chuckled softly. "I really do."

As the laughter died down, the mood lightened again. The night air was cool, but the warmth from your companions made everything feel just a little more... perfect.
