“Look Papa! Look Daddy! Look!” five year old Eden exclaimed as she pointed up at the giraffes that were looking down at her, curious at the strange little girl with the odd eyes.

“Yes Eden, we see them, they seem to like you!” Since Eden seemed to attract all sorts of forest animals to South Downs, and since she had been asking them nonstop, the family was finally at the zoo and the father’s were glad that their daughter was enjoying herself.

“Slow down Eden!” Crowley called as the chubby five year old raced ahead, Aziraphale was already breathless and sent Crowley to run ahead to catch up with their daughter.

“Shit!” Crowley swore as he briefly lost sight of Eden in a throng of humans. “Eden, darling, wait for Daddy!”

Crowley whirled around when he heard someone cry out in surprise. The demon gawked at the sight of the giraffes, who had someone gotten out of their enclosure and were walking calmly amongst the humans who were fleeing in droves…

“Shit shit shit shit shit shit shit!” Crowley swore again as Aziraphale finally caught up with him. “I think Eden got a little too excited my dear boy.”

“Ya think?”  Crowley responded, only to flinch when Aziraphale realized that Eden was nowhere to be seen…..and that even more animals had been released from their enclosures…..

“Eden! Little One!? Where are you my sweet crepe?” Aziraphale called, wishing desperately that Eden wasn’t being mauled by a ferocious beast.

“Over here Papa!” called a beautifully familiar voice.

“Eden! Crowley I found her, she’s-“ Aziraphale froze when he realized that Eden was approaching him with an armful of wolf pups, followed by two adult wolves.

“Eden…love, stay calm and put down those pups and come to me.”  Aziraphale begged, but to his dismay, Eden didn’t seem to realize the gravity of the situation.
“Papa, meet my new friends!” Eden beamed, the white pup is Molly, the black one is Holly and the gray one is Poll, all girls! And these are their parents Louie and May.”
Eden sat down of the ground and the pups began to playfully chew on her sparkly unicorn sneakers and their laces while the two adult wolves nuzzled Eden, which made her giggle.

Aziraphale so desperately wanted to dash forward and yank Eden away from the wolves, but at the same time, he knew that they meant her no harm…..although the sight of the mother and father wolf’s fangs nearly made him faint.

“Angel!” Crowley gasped as he finally caught up with his husband. “Thank Someone you found her-“ the demon stopped at the sight of Eden and the wolves.

“Fuck!” Crowley gasped.

“Hi Daddy!” Eden perked up at the sight of her Daddy. “Daddy, guess what? I got to meet so many great new friends, I even took a nap with a lion pride! And I got to snuggle with the pandas too!”

“T-That’s great Queenie….why don’t you help your friends get back into their enclosures?”

“But I want you to meet all of my new friends….I got up from my lion nap early so you could meet my wolf friends….” Eden said sadly.

“Crowley, perhaps we can stay a bit longer than we intended? The humans have all left, and a couple of miracles will ensure that they won’t remember a thing that happened today.”

Crowley caved at the sight of Eden’s imploring blue eyes. “Okay, but if I see so much as one of these animals snarl at my baby girl, I’ll skin them alive!” He glared daggers at the wolf parents, who stared back at him casually.

“Next time, we’re going camping!” Crowley said as the family left the zoo. Eden was fast asleep in her Papa’s arms, her arms wrapped tightly around a stuffed panda bear who was currently wearing her tartan bow barrette on its ear. They had stopped at the gift shop after they ate at one of the zoos many café’s and after spending a few more hours with the animals, Crowley and Aziraphale made sure that every animal was returned to its proper place and once Eden said goodbye to all of her new friends, she fell asleep, absolutely exhausted.

“All in all, I think today was a great day, although I agree with you dear boy, camping sound less chaotic and worrisome!”

Unbeknownst to the husbands, Eden’s eyes fluttered open and she peeked over her Papa’s shoulder, and saw the giraffes watching her as she was carried away.

“Bye Randy. Bye Gemma.” Eden whispered as she drifted back to sleep.
