Eden’s fathers’ led her outside, each of them had a hand over an eye as they led her outside.
“You ready Eden?” Crowley asked.
“Yes!” Eden squeaked, the six year old’s wings nearly popped out with excitement.
“Alright then, one, two, three!” On cue, he and Aziraphaledropped their hands and Eden squealed with delight.
“Oh my Someone! A treehouse! And a playhouse!? Oh my gosh!” Eden’s wings popped out and she flew up into the tree house.
“You think she likes it?” Crowley said with a smirk.
Aziraphale playfully smacked his shoulder. “You’re spoiling her Crowley!”
“Says the guy who gives her blueberry muffins with her breakfast every morning!” Crowley retorted they watch Eden land clumsily and dart into her new play house.
“And this isn’t spoiling her…it’s actually an early birthday present! I built them both myself just for her!”
“She just had her birthday dear boy!” Aziraphale reminded. It hadn’t been easy, keeping Eden cooped up in the cottage and occupied, especially when she would be expecting her animal friends from the woods. But by some miracle, they we’re able to keep the secret and maintain an element of surprise.
“A late birthday present then.”
The next thing Crowley knew, a chubby six year old nearly knocked him over as she yanked him into a crushing bear hug.
“OOF!” Crowley gasped as he felt the wind get knocked out of him.
“Thank you thank you thank you thank you!” Eden squealed. She then released him and hugged her Papa gently.
“See? She’s not spoiled!” Crowley said with s smug grin.
“Papa, can Bella come over and play with me in my new treehouse and playhouse?”
Aziraphale thought for a moment, “I don’t see why not, I’ll call Uncle Newt and Aunt Anathema and ask if their free. We can have tea while you two play.”
Eden hugged him again and flew back into her treehouse.
“Crowley, this weekend we need to paint it and make sure there are no splinters….and I’ll help Eden decorate it….there’s an old set of curtains I don’t really use anymore….oh, we can put some potted plants on the wrap-around deck, give it a little bit of a home sweet home feel to it as well!"
“Careful now darling, you’ll spoil her!” Crowley cracked and he received a playful shove.
“Oh hush you wily thing! I’m serious! It looks rather garish as just a plain wooden house in a tree….the same for her play house! I saw the cutest tea set at the toy store the other day…”
Crowley chuckled as he watched Aziraphale return inside the cottage. He loved his angel so much.
He turned and looked up at the tree house and saw Eden stick her head out of a window, her wild dark red curls a burst of flame amongst the green leaves. “Daddy! Can you and Ducky come play? I’m lonely!” Eden called dramatically.
With a snap of his fingers, Eden’s favorite toy, Ducky, a plush toy made by Madame Tracey, appeared in his hand and he flew up to the tree house…ready to play with his daughter.
