Chapter Thirty-Nine

"You'll be able to catch him over this beautiful, dead fuckin' body. But even then, he will be the one coming after you."

-Rheannon.

I stood before the mirror, gazing at my reflection in awe. The gown fit me like a second skin, hugging every curve of my body with its delicate beige fabric. The corset-style bodice held me in, sculpting my shape with a grace that felt almost magical. The lace—so intricate and detailed—covered the bodice, swirling in floral patterns that seemed to dance as the light touched them. It was like a piece of art, each tiny stitch perfectly placed.

The long sleeves, made entirely of lace, stretched gracefully to my wrists. With a tiny hoop extension that was slid in my middle finger.
As I turned, I watched the gown cascade around me, the fabric flowing out in soft, sweeping waves. The lace continued all the way down, intricately woven into the skirt, which trailed behind me like a dream. The train was long—so long—that it seemed to go on forever, adding a dramatic effect of movement with every step I took. It was as if I were walking on clouds, and each step left a trace of lace behind me, like a whisper of love in the air.

I ran a hand over my waist smoothing the dress even further. I was nervous. Very very nervous.

I hadn’t been this nervous for the court marriage but this…felt too real. I swallowed and gazed at my face. I had done the makeup myself. I didn’t want people invading my personal space and I took my sweet time. Lips painted a deep shade of wine and lashes coated with two layers of mascaras. I should have obviously stopped there given that these two things alone made me feel confident in my skin but today was the day of my wedding.

A wedding that I had been promised months ago.

The wedding of my dreams he said. And it truly was.

What he didn’t know was anything with him was my dream. He just simply had to be there with me and it was a dream come true. I wouldn’t ask of anything else.

So as I swiped concealer, foundation and dabbed some powder over my face my confidence grew ten folds stronger. I was doing this for myself. I was feeling good. The happiest I had ever been in my life.
I picked up a cream blush and swiped it across my cheeks lifting them instantly that made the makeup look sharp and more put together.

I dabbed some more powder followed by matte blush and sprayed some perfume.

A few months ago if someone had told me that I would be happily married in Greece with the love of my life I would have laughed in their faces. But everything happens for a reason.

And the fact that I was here today after everything was pleasant enough as it is.

I took a deep breath to calm my nerves and the door of my room opened. Eirene stepped inside wearing a pastel pink dress which she absolutely rocked.

“My god you look stunning!” I exclaimed unable to hold myself back.

Sierra followed her wearing a matching dress just the length was shorter and stopped at her knees. “You both look perfect.” I complimented.

“Says the most gorgeous bride I have ever seen.” Eirene spoke and I could hear the crack in her voice as she blinked rapidly to not let the tears fall.

Sierra sniffled as she kept staring at my face, “I don’t wanna cry why did you have to look so gorgeous? My makeup is expensive.”

We all burst out laughing at that and suddenly everything felt light. My own tears going back to where they crawled out from.
