Chapter Eighteen (Renesmee)

    I walk up to the front door nervously. "Should I knock?" I ask Jake. He thinks about it for a moment. "Nah. This is your home." I drop his hand and go to open the door. "What'd you do that for?" He asks sadly. I kiss him on the cheek. "Sorry Jake, I don't think anybody should know yet," I say. "It's okay. I understand," He responds.
    I take a deep breath and open the door. Immediately, I am engulfed in a hug by Alice. "Renesmee! I saw you coming home, but I wasn't sure so I waited here to see if you were really coming and you did!" She looks at Jake. "And I respect your privacy," She says. "Thank you, Alice. I missed you too!" I say. Then I notice my mom standing by the door.
    "Renesmee," She says and very briefly hugs me. I'm disappointed. I know what I said on the phone may have been a bit rude, but dad told me that those things needed to be said.
    Alice gets a far away look for a moment before saying, "Let's go into the soundproof room." So I start to follow her before remembering Jake. I look at him, give Alice a look and she scurries out of the room.
"So, I guess your leaving?" I ask Jake. He sighs. "I've gotta go Nessie," He says. "Pack meeting. I barely had enough time to bring you here."
    Now I realize how he must feel when he has to leave me. My heart feels like it's being hit with a hammer, over and over. And I actually feel like crying.
I give Jake a kiss on the cheek, only for him to wrap his arms around me. "Bye Nessie," He says. But he mouths "I love you," because anybody in the house can hear. Except for Rosalie I think. I smile at him and mouth "I love you too."
    I run to the soundproof room, only to see my mom in there too. She gives me a stern look and says "Explain now." I give her the whole story, right down to coming in the door. "So when will this Liam get here?" She asks Alice. "Noon tomorrow. He's about to call Renesmee to say he's ahead of schedule," She says. Right on cue, my phone rings. I pick it up and answer it.
"Hello?" I say. "Hey Ness. I'm way ahead of schedule and should be there around noon tomorrow," He says. "Okay. I'm kinda busy right now Lee. I'll see you tomorrow though, okay?" I ask. "Okay Ness, G
goodbye." He says. "Bye," I reply and hang up.
    I turn to my mom who says, "Alice, could you please leave us alone for a minute?" Alice looks worried. "Okay?" She says it more like a question.
    The second the door is closed, she starts screaming. "How could you? Do you know how worried we were? You were being selfish! You should never talk to me like that! And look at your eyes! You are a monster!" That's all I can take before I run out crying.
