Chapter Twenty-four (Renesmee)

After a while, I decide to check my phone. I'm really surprised when I have 8
10 texts. All from Jake.

I'm sorry

I'll never forgive myself for hurting you

I'll make it up to you
Be ready at five.
Wear old clothes
Should I go? If I don't, he'll probably follow me around like a lovesick puppy. I do not want that to happen.
I run home, and see Alice waiting by the door. "We have one hour and a half to get you ready." She goes upstairs to my room, and I follow her.
For clothes, she picks out a pair of jean shorts, too short for me, but perfect for Alice. She picks out a grey tank top, and a belly shirt that says "If you want it come and get it." It's a song I love. It's by Selena Gomez. She braids my hair down my back and puts me in a pair of cowboy boots. She puts on black eye shadow, creating a smoky eye. She puts on eyeliner, making cat eyes, mascara, and blood red lip stain. When she's done, she squeals. "You look hot!" She says.
I step over to my full length mirror. Alice is right. I do look hot! Just then, the doorbell rings. Alice goes to answer it while I grab my purse and phone. My purse always rest on my waist. I think I need jewelry. I look in my jewelry box and find the perfect thing. It's a big, clunky, gold necklace, with a giant pineapple on the end.
After putting that on, I walk downstairs, and Alice gives me a nod of approval. Then I see Jake. His mouth is literally open. "You'll catch flies Jake." I say. Alice laughs. "Be home by midnight." She says. "Okay." I say. With that, Jake and I leave.
We get in the car, and Jake kisses my cheek before starting the car. "You look really amazing." He says. "Thanks Jake. You look pretty good yourself." He laughs. "Nessie, I'm so sorry! I didn't me-" I cut him off. "It's okay Jake. You didn't do anything but what a big overprotective wolf is supposed to do." I say. He laughs again. He drives for around half an hour, making me laugh all the way. Then I see a ferris wheel. Oh! Of course! It's fair week.
Jake pays for us to get in, and pulls into a parking spot. When we get out of the car, he grabs my hand and pulls me towards the rides. Before I can protest, we're on a pirate ship that goes back and forth. At first I don't think it'll be that bad, until it goes upside down. I scream and cling on to Jake, but he laughs at me.
When that ride is over, he pulls me to the drop zone. They strap us in and the ride starts to go up. It's actually pretty relaxing, until it drops when I least expect it. I scream and Jacob laughs at me again. After a few more rides, we stop to get corndogs.
While we're taking a break, Jake impersonates me on the rides. I just roll my eyes and laugh.
By this time, it's getting dark. By the time we get back over to the rides, it's dark and all the lights for the rides are on. Jake pulls me over to the ferris wheel, and we get on. It's actually pretty fun. Jake puts his arm around me, and I snuggle into his side.
When we get to the top, the ride stops and doesn't start again. We hear someone yell up that the ride won't start again for a while. It's cold up here, and pretty soon I start to shiver. Jake pulls me in to his side even more. "I don't like this." I tell him. "I do." He says. "How could you possibly line this?" I ask him. He smiles. "Every second up here is another second I get to spend alone with you." I sl can't take it anymore. He's driving me crazy. Without stopping once, I kiss him.
He doesn't kiss me back, and then I think that maybe he doesn't want me to kiss him. But then he kisses me back. His lips are soft and warm. Werewolf warm. After a minute, we pull away, our foreheads pressed together. "I love you" Jake says. "I Love you too." I say.
Just then, the ride started to move again, and we go towards the ground where the ride stops to let us off. Jake gets off first, then me. He grabs my hand, and starts to walk towards the games.
He looks around, before seeing a test your strength game. He starts try walk towards it, when Jake growls quietly. "What is it Jake?" I ask him. "There are to many boys looking at you." He says, which makes me laugh.
When Jake swings the hammer for the game, the bell at the top rings. Jake gets a teddy bear and gives it to me. "Thank you Jake. Do you know what time it is?" I ask. "Ten." He says.
Just then, the pack walks up to us. Most of the guys with their imprints. Kim and Jared are in the process of eating each other's faces. Embry walks to them and smacks Jared in the back of the head, which makes me laugh. Jared and Kim jump apart, which only makes me laugh harder. Jake is practically holding me up. Then everyone starts laughing at me.
After we all stop laughing, we decide we should go towards home and stop and get ice cream. Two people are riding with me and Jake, because they don't want to be crowded. Quil and Embry ride with us. Claire couldn't come because she's so small. Right before they get in, I kiss Jake. It's more of a peck actually.
We go to an ice cream parlor in Port Angles. I get mint chocolate chip. On a cone. Jake puts ice cream on my face, so I take my cone and push it into his face. He looks really mad for a moment, until I start laughing so hard I fall off my chair and hit my arm. "Ow!" I say, causing Jake to get over to me as fast as he can. "Are you okay Nessie?" He asks. "Yeah" No. My arm hurts and I think it's broken. But Jake doesn't need to worry. Relief crosses his face. "Okay. Good. It's 11:30 we should go now." Quil and Embry decide to ride with the rest of the pack, so Jake and I are alone. My arm really hurts. "So you're not okay then?" He asks. "What?" I say. Jake rolls his eyes. "You said, 'My arm really hurts.'." Jake says. Now I'm weirded out. "No. I thought that." I say. "This is weird." Jake says. "Yeah it is." I reply. Jake looks at me like I'm crazy. "I thought that!" He says.
This is weird I think. It only takes a minute for me to hear Jake's voice in my head.
Really weird. Am I in your head? He asks.
Yeah I reply.

"Anyway. I wanted to ask you something." Jake says out loud. "Yeah?" I ask. "Will you be my girlfriend?" He asks. I try to stifle a laugh, but I giggle. Jake stares at me. "I'm sorry for laughing, but Jake? You and I are meant to spend our whole lives together. Did you think I would say no?" I ask. That causes Jake to laugh. "I love you." He says. "I love you too Jake." I say. Jake looks nervous. "Nessie, you are everything to me. I really love you. You are the most beautiful, smartest, girl I know." I suddenly feel like crying, but I don't. Then I realize that we are sitting at the beginning of my driveway. Stopped. "Jake, you. You. I don't know what to say to you. " When you kissed me, I thought my heart would explode. I love you more than anything. " This time, it's not me that goes in for a kiss, it's Jake. We kiss until neither of us can breathe, and then some. Through everything,I know that Jake and I belong together. Forever.
