A few hours after falling asleep in his bed, the sick little Balin slowly woke up feeling more groggy and blurry than he was this morning.
He soon regained his vision to see that Loona was no longer sleeping and snuggling beside him as she did earlier.
"Loona?" he softly called out, quietly with his scratchy voice, trying to see where she was.
All that he got though was the sounds of crickets and a few car crashes from far away outside the apartment.
He then noticed himself twiddling his thumbs, and sensed his own boredom with just lying in his bed, sick as a dog. Or rather, a hellhound.
Maybe... he had...
(ALASTOR-STYLE STATIC)
Nah, he couldn't contract that. That's impossible!
...Isn't it?
BACK TO THE STORY!
If video games weren't gonna be the answer, and he wanted a little quiet away from the TV in his closet, he soon decided to play a quiet game. Using his imagination, he looked around the room, and played a little sick game called 'I Spy.'
"Hmm... I spy... with my little eye..." pondered Balin, looking around the room before spotting his item. "Ugh... my slobber towel."
Now sighing in sadness, Balin pointed to the personal towel on his bedside table used for the alarm clock's slobber or Loona's whenever both would lick his face to wake him up.
"I spy, with my little eye..." he sighed out loud to himself again, looking around his bedroom once more, before finding Loona at his door showing a concerned look.
"Loona?" he then finished as he tilted his head.
"Is everything okay, kiddo?" she asked walking up to him slowly. "I heard you call out to me."
"No, I just... wanted to check on where you were." he replied, as his sniffled a little and wiped his nose with a tissue.
"Ya know, it is a good sick game, but 'I Spy' isn't exactly the best one to play in bed." Loona smirked, stroking the little boy's hair.
"No, it isn't, is it?" sighed Balin. "I learnt that on an episode of Family Feud."
FLASHBACK:
One night a couple of years ago, Balin and his family were sitting on the couch at what's now the clubhouse watching some 'Family Feud.'
In the game, the host stood in between one player from each two teams as they shook each other's hands, and placed their other hands next to a buzzer.
"We surveyed a hundred people and the top 5 answers are on the board." said the host of the show. "The question is: Name a game you can play in bed."
The fastest player then hit the buzzer just in time to answer. "Steve!"
"I spy!" the contestant named Steve called out his answer.
"I sp..." the host was about to finish as everyone in the live TV audience started laughing. "I SPY?!"
Elton, Raven, and their little 4-and-a-half year old Balin were also laughing, having understood that joke.
FLASHBACK ENDS
"Heh, I see." chuckled Loona, after Balin told her his story. "But it's okay, if you were just checking on me. So sweet of you. Unless... you wanted to keep on snuggling. Didn't you?"
