I woke up in a strange bed.

The sun was shining into the window and warming the entire room.

I slowly started to remember what I saw in the spirit realm and an uneasy feeling settled in my stomach once again.

He was going to destroy everything.

And I was supposed to stop him.

I looked at my phone and saw that I had hundreds of calls and texts.

Then, I noticed the date.

A week had passed since I went into the spirit realm.

I started to panic and started to scream.

Derek ran into the room and pulled me to his chest.

He stroked my hair to calm me down.

Once my breathing was normal, he helped me up and lead me down the stairs.

Jax, Emily, and all of my friends were sitting in the living room of this place.

They all looked up at me with worry in their eyes.

"Ky!" Emily exclaimed as she ran up to hug me.

I held her tight until she let go to look up at me.

"Are you okay? We've been so worried about you!"

"I'm okay, Em." I replied. I was lying. I felt like I'd been hit by a truck. Jax approached me and gave me a hug as well.

"They told us everything." Jax whispered into my ear.

I looked up to meet her gaze. I wanted to be angry. I was angry. It felt like the air had been sucked out of the room.

I looked to Derek and said, "Why would you tell them?"

"Ky, you were out for a week. Your phone was blowing up with calls from both of them. They were going to file a missing persons report. I called them here to see you. You would wake up in the middle of the night screaming and shifting. They just so happened to walk in when you were having an episode."

I nodded slowly. I was trying to wrap my head around everything. I don't even remember waking up at all. I looked to Emily and Jax. I wish they didn't see. I wish this wouldn't put them in danger. I didn't choose this. I would never choose this path.

"We called the school and told them you've had a stomach bug. They sent you some homework to catch up on. If you get it done by the end of next week, you'll still graduate at the top of your class." Jax said.

I walked over to the couch and sat down, still trying to adjust to everything. Where even are we?

As if Lydia could read my mind, she said "We're in my family's cabin about thirty minutes outside of Beacon Hills. We thought it would be best if you could get away for a little while you recovered."

"I saw him."

Everyone froze.

I continued, "It's worse than we could have ever expected. He- he wants peace. He just has a fucked up way of going about it."

"What do you mean?" Stiles asked.

"He's going to watch the world burn."

--------------

I filled everyone in on what I had seen in the spirit realm. Jax and Emily were very confused at some parts, but tried their best to understand. I hated involving them in this. The more they knew, the more danger they could be in.

"What do you think we should do?" Scott asked me.

I sighed, "We have to stop these sacrifices. Has anyone heard of any more happening?"

"Since you've been out, there's been 4 more." Lydia replied.

Shit.

"I need to look into this now that I have more details. Kylie, if you need anything, please call me. Okay?" Lydia said as she grabbed her belongings.

I nodded and she left.

"I want to go home." I said.

"Kylie, we think you should take some ti-" Scott started speaking before I interrupted him.

"I've been gone for a week and I have a lot of shit to do. I would rather not be cooped up inside some cabin while innocent people are being sacrificed. Not to mention I graduate in a week and a half." I looked at Jax, "Please, can we go home?"

Jax nodded. We gathered our things and made our way to the car.

-------------

Mr. Harris can go to hell.

It's almost feels like he gave me extra work because I was absent.

I wasn't as angry as I could have been about it, though. At least it was getting my mind off of everything else for the time being.

I spent all of Sunday catching up on my work. Derek tried to call me, but I didn't want to talk to anyone.

As soon as I finished my work, Lydia messaged me:

Come over. I found something.

So much for not talking to anyone.

I drove over to Lydia's house and her mom lead me to her room. Papers were still scattered around her.

"What did you find?" I asked Lydia.

"I didn't expect you to get here so quickly." she said. I took a closer look at her. Her makeup was smudged and her hair was a mess.

I let my senses take over for a moment and heard a heartbeat. I followed the sound of it.

I opened her closet to find Stiles trying to hide.

"Lydia, did you know you have really great taste? This clothes are amazing! Oh, hey Kylie! What are you doing here?" Stiles said.

I rolled my eyes and dragged him from the closet.

I repeated, "What did you find?"

Lydia hesitated and looked at Stiles, then began speaking. "There's not much about it, but there are certain marks that banshees can do that will resurrect spirits. None of them were speaking to me until the very end. This one is for destruction." She pointed to the mark. It was the same one that was found around the body at Derek's old house. "Everything you said about Byron lines up with this. For it to work, they need ten sacrifices. We know of five."

"Is there any way we can find the banshees?" I asked.

"I talked to some of the spirits and they told they could lead me to them."

"Talk to them again and tell me where to find them. I'll start working after school tomorrow."

"Kylie, I think you should re-"

"Have it to me by the end of the day tomorrow."

I left Stiles and Lydia to continue what they had started.
