Work Text:

Camila always prided herself on being the perfect vampire hunter. Heartless and efficient, she completed her missions effortlessly. The news about a prodigy hunter named Dinah Jane, who had failed to kill her target, spread like wildfire among the community of bloodsucker killers. The unknown reason behind Dinah's actions infuriated them, and even Camila's family warned her not to end up like that.

Curiosity got the better of Camila. Determined to kill the vampire Dinah was protecting, she tracked them down. She learned about Dinah's constant protection but never understood the reason behind it.

"You're protecting a killer," Camila said, now facing Dinah.

Dinah stood in front of a slightly injured vampire, who had a bullet lodged in her shoulder - a bullet designed to slow a vampire's healing process.

"All of us here are killers," Dinah retorted, her scythe ready to swing if Camila made a move. "Killing this vampire will gain you nothing. What are you doing here?"

Camila scoffed, "A prodigy who can't do her job right."

"A people-pleaser who can never satisfy anyone," Dinah shot back venomously. "Yet I'm still the first in rank, and you're not even in the top five."

Camila's face twisted in bitterness. Dinah was right. Despite everything, no one could match Dinah's level. Camila had managed to reach the top ten, but Dinah was always ahead.

"I hope you can put your energy into something else," Dinah said, lowering her scythe. "Finish your missions properly before you try to kill this vampire." She then turned to the vampire. "Normani, are you okay now?"

Normani, the vampire, smiled. "It took a while, but yeah, I'm all better now." The tear in her clothes from the bullet was still visible, but Dinah was just glad she was okay. They left, with Dinah carrying Normani in her arms, leaving Camila in frustration.

Camila often stared at the ranking board with a sigh. She had reached 6th place, but Dinah remained at the top. The vampire hunter community was toxic and competitive. Dinah's way of surviving - doing her own thing and defying everyone - was the opposite of what Camila always did. Their last encounter made Camila question her life choices.

One night, as she returned to her usual work, Camila found her mission to be an easy one. The vampire she was supposed to kill had just started hunting people - a very common vampire. It was a quick mission until she felt an intimidating and ominous presence behind her.

She turned to see an unfamiliar figure lounging on a bench. Bathed in moonlight, the figure's pale skin seemed to glow ethereally, her presence commanding attention. Every detail about her exuded an almost hypnotic allure to Camila. The stranger's eyes locked onto hers with a seductive smile, her black dress revealing tantalizing glimpses of her pale skin as she crossed her legs slowly and deliberately.

"Good evening, hunter," her voice was a silky whisper that seemed to caress Camila's senses. "It's a pleasure to meet you on such a beautiful night."

Camila felt an almost magnetic pull but forced herself to break free from the enchantment. She remembered the legend of the undead vampire, the legendary Enchantress. No hunter had successfully stood before her without being enchanted and ultimately killed.

"Rude," the vampire pouted, her lips curling in a way that made Camila's heart race. "I greeted you."

"What benefit would I get from greeting you back?" Camila said, trying to maintain her composure as she aimed her gun.

"I don't know," the vampire shrugged with a playful smile, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Perhaps the pleasure of beautiful company for the night?"

The vampire's expression shifted from playful to slightly annoyed as she saw the bullet speeding towards her. With a swift, graceful motion, she flicked it away effortlessly. "That's not how you greet a lady," she said, her voice a mix of reproach and amusement. "You could at least ask my name first."

"A hunter doesn't need to know the name of their prey," Camila replied, though her voice wavered slightly under the vampire's intense gaze. "You're about to die, after all."

The vampire puffed her cheeks in an oddly endearing manner, despite Camila's attempts to maintain her aggression. "My name is Lauren," she said, standing up with a fluid grace and slowly moving towards the hunter. With each step, the air seemed to thicken with tension. Effortlessly deflecting every bullet, she closed the distance. "You should know by now that you can't kill me," she murmured, her voice a low, sensual whisper. "Why not entertain me in a different way?"

Lauren's hand moved like lightning, bending Camila's gun and yanking it out of her grasp. When Camila attempted to stab her with a knife, Lauren caught her wrist, their faces inches apart. Camila could see every exquisite detail of the Enchantress's beauty, a face that had seduced and killed many hunters.

"Don't worry, I don't plan to kill you," Lauren breathed, her lips dangerously close to Camila's. "Your face is just my type. I kind of want a taste," she added, her voice dripping with insinuation, not referring to blood.

Camila's breath hitched, her heart pounding as Lauren's proximity and the seductive timbre of her voice sent a shiver down her spine. "No way-" she began, but the rest of her protest died on her lips as Lauren closed the final gap between them, capturing Camila's mouth in a kiss that was both tender and electric.

For a moment, the world around them disappeared, leaving only the intense connection between the hunter and the vampire.

But they did end up at Lauren's place, tangled in a heated dance that left Lauren breathless. The vampire lay beneath the hunter, her chest rising and falling rapidly, disbelief etched on her face. "Should've stopped yapping and just eaten me up right away," she joked, her voice husky as she tried to catch her breath. "You're officially the hunter."

Camila rolled her eyes at the joke, a smirk playing on her lips. She hadn't planned to sleep with a vampire or turn the Enchantress into a moaning mess, but Lauren was indeed enchanting. As a hunter, she should count this as a success - her prey was a quivering, satisfied mess under her, after all.
