CLICKITY CLACK! The skateboard wheels hit the ground, rolling up and down the front sidewalk. August pushed off once more she pushed the tail of her board flipping it up. CLACK! The board hit the ground, it stopped but the girl didn't. She flew head over heels and landed on her right arm roughly. SNAP! That sickening sound filled her ears. A burning, buzzing warm sensation filled her arm. Her heart banged in her ears and hammered against her chest. She tried to shake the feeling off but when she put pressure down on her arm she buckled and let out a pained cry. She was able to get up to her feet, now able to get a good look at her arm. It was a blackened color and was swelling up fast! The girl showed her injury to her mother who gave her an ice pack to hold on her arm until they got to the healers. When the x-rays came out, the girl was both in awe and sick, her wrist bone had a small crack. The doctor wrapped her arm in bandages and placed it in a sling. August was quiet the way home. She was already thinking of possible obstacles and ways to overcome them. She reminded herself that the cast was only temporary and would eventually come off. She wasn't afraid to rise to a new challenge. She wanted her arm to heal properly. She thought back prior to the accident, she nearly landed a kick-flip! She was so close. She went back and forth with this for a while. Every time a bad thing popped in her head, she counted it with a positive thing.
She would fall down but she'd still get up again.
