The sky was deep blue with hints of orange, pink, purple all faded into the next, stars still visible in the darkness. All was quiet in the Mattin household, well almost quiet. Small feet padded down the hall, silently past their parent's room. Mart's brown jacket covered his lighter brown tunic, hanging just above his navy blue trousers. His knapsack was on his back, filled with clothes, food, credits, a small first aid kit, and a reference photo to know they'd found the right people. Once past Ash and Sammie's room he tugged on his black boots, his brown hair was combed back, a small band kept it out of his eyes. Kacie joined him her olive green coveralls hung a little loose around her arms, her fingerless gloves over the sleeves holding them tightly closed, the same going for her brown boots, her brown hair was in a tight pair of braids, keeping it out of her face. The two had left a little note saying they had an errand to run. Mart felt Kacie against his back holding tight to his middle with her small arms. As her started up the speeder bike the cool morning air came like a cold splash of water waking him up fully alert. Despite being early morning the spaceport was already bustling with activity. Mart kept a tight grip on his sister's hand and vice versa. The two walked around weaving through the crowd looking like just another pair of travelers. Soon enough they came across a geonoishian cargo freighter, the ramp down, a small C-1 unit rolling back and forth on the ramp. They needed to get past the astrometric to get on board. Mart had ether a stroke of genius or a stroke of crazy. Picking up a good sized rock, he started to explain to Kacie how it would work. "When I throw the rock we'll have a short time frame to get to the ship. Ready?" He watched his sister nod, raising his arm he waited until the droid had turned away throwing the rock with a strong arm, catching the crate stacked against the pile toppling causing a Lou crash sound. He gently pushed his sister down as he ducked behind the crates serving as their hiding spot. When the droid went to investigate the two ran into the cargo bay taking shelter in a supply closet. He sat Kacie between his legs her back pressing against his chest. The two soon nodded off only to wake up to hear voices. "Close? That wasn't just a small slip, it could've cost us the mission. We barely escaped with the cargo. Kid, do you have any idea how hard it is to be in a war, how many people have lost their lives and their homes? I do! I was just a little younger than you when the clone wars ended, and I lost my only family. You don't know what it's like to be in a war!" A female sounding character ranted. The boy peeked out finding a female with dark skin covered in scars her wet sand colored hair was in a messy short cut. Her black boots tapped against the ground her fingerless gloves curled into a fist. Her reddish brown jacket hid her shirt. When she turned her head Mart saw she had a purple crystal on a silver chain. Her shirt was a sky blue color. She had a triangular scar on her neck, looking like it was a blaster burn. She walked over to a boy a bit older than him, grabbing him by the brown vest he wore over his orange jumpsuit, causing his electric blue eyes to go wide with fear. "Calm down Ace, Ezra is learning." 'Ace' let go of the boy instead turning to face ponytail "Look I lost my big brothers to the empire and I'm not about to let someone else experience that pain." She told him. "Kanan I get he's learning but- ya know what forget it. I'm not going to waste my time." She huffed. She walked over to their hiding spot, and answered a transmission. A male about a year older than their father, black hair and red stripes on his shoulder amor, appeared. "Ace, hello. I assume you are on your way to rendezvous with the fleet?" He questioned. "Yes Comander Sato, we're in hyperspace as we speak." Ace confirmed. After a brief exchange, ace shut off the transmitter and slammed her fist onto the door controls causing the boy to tumble out. The others stood above him scowling. "Um heh heh, hi?" He sheepishly tried. The lassat grabbed him by his collar causing the photograph he "barowed from his dad to flutter to the floor. The ponytailed man who was apparently Kanan picked it up, holding it delectley in his hands. He looked between the photo, Ace and him before finally connecting the dots. "Put him down Zeb he's our nephew. He's got his dad's determined spirit, right Vella?" He asked. Ace luached herself into her brother's arms, tears of happiness running down her face. The man then held out his hand to which Kacie hesitantly took. Caleb had had a lot of practice with his sister and was calm, gentle and friendly. "It's nice to finally meet you, Mart and Kacie. We'll get in touch with your caretakers but first," he said gently "You two have some explaining to do."
