63. Sumedh's seven promises

Mallika's pov:

So finally today is my marriage, God! This fills like a dream. I still remember when I first saw Sumedh helping a small puppy in the road. In class I never noticed him properly. But that day when I was going to my hostel. A car was about to hit a small puppy. I ran to save it but before me someone picked up the puppy. Yes, it was none other than Sumedh. As that small puppy looked so weak he gave some biscuits and left it in a safe place. It was first time I noticed him and I fell for him. From that day I wanted to know about him more. And in class he used to get more marks somewhere I was jealous but I was happy. I gathered some courage and talked with him. From past 5 months I tried to talk to him but I failed this time I didn't gave up. And I didn't showed him that I fell for him. The first time I heard his voice, he spoke with me looking into my eyes. I forgot what I wanted to talk to him that day. I ran to my hostel that day and kissed on his photo on my wall. Which I clicked on sports day. I talked with his photo for a while. I can feel my roommate seeing me but whatever. Everyday my teddy and his photo I used to talk with them. Slowly I was so much obsessed with him as our talking with eachother became our daily routine. And I wanted to test him that am I the only one who is mad at him or he also has feelings for me. So I started stalking him, spending time with him. I didn't see anything. And lastly I took Abhinav's help I wanted to make him jealous so that he himself confess his feelings but my all plan backfire me. Abhinav took advantage and made everything become worse but somehow Sumedh managed. Everything was going so well slowly I realised Sumedh was also having feelings for me so I decided to propose him on my result day. But like always my story never have happy ending Shanaya kissed Sumedh that day breaking all my dreams. For a moment I believed that Sumedh never had feelings for me. But somewhere I felt I'm wrong. I can't see anyone else with my Sumedh so I pushed her from top of our School. Sumedh came to convince me but my over obsession wasn't ready. So I left him that day and went to America. Killing myself each and every day. After my life took so many turns and destiny made us meet again because of Aru.

I tear dropped from my eyes remembering these 12 years of my journey.

"Bhabhi,Why are you crying, today is very special. And I want to see Sumedh bro's reaction. Look how beautiful you are looking you are ruining my hardwork"
Aisha said while giving final touch to my make up.

"Scold her even more Aishu, she starts crying in a happy occasion too"
Priya said while wearing bangles.

"mumma, pri are you both ready?? Your grooms are waiting for you both from a long time come fast"
Aru said while entering our room.

"Aru they have to wait to see my gorgeous bhabhis"
Aisha said

"Aisha Chachi I can't wait to see mumma and Papa's marriage. Send her please"
Aru said for which Aisha melted.

"ohhooo, how can I say no to my cute babydoll. Come let's take both the bhabhis to the mandap"
Aisha said while bending to her level.

"yessss!"
Aru shouted in happy and hold my hand. Aisha took Priya to mandap and whereas Aru took me. I sat beside Sumedh. He was staring at me without even blinking his eyes making me blush.

"papa"
Aru called him.

"papa!!"
She shouted in his ear bringing him back.

"hmm"
He looked at Aru.

"I know mumma is looking very beautiful but concentrate on your marriage"
Sumedh fake angrily stared at Aru where I smiled seeing them.
We both stood up to take 7 rounds. With each round Sumedh started promising me.

"I promise that I'll always be with you"
He said after another round.

"I promise I won't let you cry. And I won't leave the person who will make you cry or hurt you"
He said, the next round.

"Aarohi will never be alone, we will always be with her"
He said for which I smiled.

"I'll always take care of Aarohi. She'll get all love she deserves"
He said I nodded

"I'll take all responsibility of Aarohi and our Lil one"
I smiled in between my tears.

"If you suffer from any pain in the future. I won't let you bear all pain alone I'll be with you taking your pain"
The last round.

"If you are on your last breath I'll be with you. And will come along with you wherever you go!"
This promise scared me. What does he mean??
I was thinking about it. Soon he tied nuptial chain around my neck and filled my hairline with sindur.

"someone come forward for kanyadaan"
The priest said, Sumedh looked at me I realised I'm an orphan there is no one from my side to do my kanyadaan Sumedh was about to say something but.

"I'll do my sister's kanyadaan"
I heard Arjun's voice. Someone is there from my side. I smiled looking at him. He did my kanyadaan and went and sat on his place. Chacha did priya's kanyadaan. And our marriage came and end. Everyone were so happy but in my mind Sumedh's last promise was buzzing.

At night

I sat in our room on my bed thinking about it.

"Mallika I'm so happy today, from today our new life will begin with lots of happiness and love"
Sumedh sat beside me.

"Mallika what happened??"
He understood and asked.

"Sumedh why did you said that??"
I finally asked him.

"what??"

"Your last promise"
I said looking at him. He kept his hand on mine and said.

"I can't leave without you Mallikam I can't even imagine my life without you and Aarohi. What's wrong in it??"
He said calmly.

"Sumedh it's not like that. We don't know when we end our life. If something happens to me..."
Before I complete he kept his hand on my mouth.

"don't you dare. Nothing will happen to you. You are my Mallika nobody can even touch you. And our Lil one and you both will be healthy. Ok?"
He said taking his hand back I nodded with him. And we both had a passionate kiss. We both talked about random things. And were feeling sleepy after a beautiful day. We both laid on bed hugging eachother.

"Sumedh from tomorrow I'm coming back to company right??"
I asked.

"hmm no"
He said making me shocked.

"What! You promised me after marriage I'll go back to my work how could you do that"
I said being angry.

"ok,ok sorry. You are joining company but on one condition"
He said.

"what is it?"
I asked rolling my eyes.

"Only 3 months you are coming to office. After that you'll be completely on rest"
He said.

"but why"

"Mallika it's your 2nd month I don't want you to take stress. I'll manage you just take rest"
He said caressing my hair

"Ok😒"
Having no other option I should agree.
