"Of course, I'll stay." I nod, trying to hide my smile as I look away. Grabbing his sleeve, I tug him inside.

"Hi, it's you again," Abuela greets him, giving me a look when she notices I'm still holding onto him.

"Hello, Abuela," he says, smiling back.

"Did Alex and Maddie come home, or are they still out?" I ask.

"Oh, they came in about five minutes ago. They're in Alex's room," she replies.

I nod and pull him along toward Alex's room. I knock, but there's no answer, so I open the door-and immediately slam it shut, feeling my stomach churn. I practically choke, trying to escape, but with my eyes squeezed shut, I bump right into his chest, hiding my face against him.

"What happened?" he chuckles, probably amused at the disgust on my face.

"I saw... tongues. Ugh." I mutter, gagging. He rubs my back a little, whispering, "I'm sorry, Ivy." I cling to his hoodie, trying to scrub the image from my mind, when I hear Alex shout from behind the closed door.

"Knock before you come in, idiot!" he yells. I look up to see Lucas frowning, almost as if he's the one offended.

"Learn to lock the freaking door!" I shout back, annoyed. Unbelievable. I rush back to my room, and he follows, looking both confused and irritated.

Once inside, I start pacing, trying to shake off what I just saw. "I'm sorry, Ivy," he whispers slowly. But why does he look so sad?

I shrug. "I mean, I knew it would happen. It's fine."

Now he looks even more confused. "Wait, you knew? Then why didn't you stop it?"

I frown. "Why would I? It's none of my business. They're just two idiots making out in my freaking house," I say, annoyed by the last part.

"So... you were in an open relationship?" he asks, looking like he's about to gag.

"What the hell are you talking about? Why would I be in an open relationship?"

"I- I might be wrong, but... didn't they technically cheat on you?" he asks, clearly perplexed.

This is getting frustrating. "Lucas, what are you..." I trail off as realization dawns on me.

I step closer and whisper, "Lucas, he's my brother."

---

"He's what?" he ask, almost shouting , shocked out of his mind .

"He's NOT your boyfriend?"

"No," I says, biting her lip.

"But at the ball, you said he was."

"I didn't want anyone knowing about our relationship,"

"But... you have different last names, and there's no resemblance between you."
