"What happened?" Alex asks, but my mind is too much of a mess as I watch him leave.
"Nothing," I fake a smile.
"Anyways, can we go? I'm severely dehydrated." He nods and follows, until he gets a call.
"I'll be back in a minute; this is important." I nod, picking up a bottle of water.
"Bitch, you nailed it!" an overly excited Maddie comes up and practically suffocates me with her hug.
"Thank you," I say.
"You ditched me, though, for a guy-a super hot one, by the way. I'm happy for you" she says, wiggling her eyebrows in excitement.
"Ugh, Maddie, no. It's not what you think."
"My colleagues are dumb as fuck," Alex says, walking back to me, his head buried inside his phone. I elbow him, and he looks up at Maddie, getting all flustered.
"Oh, uh, hi, I'm Alex," he says, bringing his hand up for a handshake, and oh my God, never did I ever think that I would live to see the day I see Maddie blush. She smiles sweetly. "Maddie, this side."
"I never got such a sweet smile; all I got was your glares and smirks," I say, teasing her. I receive one of her famous glares. "Look, that's what I'm talking about," I say, pointing at her, and she rolls her eyes. They start talking about random things while I tune both of them out when I find Kaiden and Mabel almost too close, seconds away from kissing but Lucas comes at the exact time, and she pushes him away. Thank God he saw that.
"Ivy, I need to talk to you," Felix says, distracting me.
"Go on." "In private." I nod. "Um, two things: one, I wanted to thank you for taking her side and protecting her from that bitch, and secondly, I have to ask you for a favor."
"Felix, she's like a sister to me; of course, I'll protect her. And that fucking bitch had it coming . tell me what you want to ask."
"I'm proposing to her tomorrow, so I need help. Can you distract her-like take her shopping or get her nails done and shit? I don't know; I just need some time," he says, totally blushing.
"Aww, Felix, that's so cute. Don't worry; I'll definitely take her away and get her ready for that."
"Thank you, Ivy, if you ever need something I'll be there" he says, nodding . i just smile at him but that smile vanishes as he turns around, we both realize that Lucas actually heard the whole conversation. His face looks pale, as if he's just been betrayed.
"I can't believe you didn't tell me, Felix. We'd always planned this day together."
"We did, until your so-called girlfriend insulted my girl, screw taking stand , you didn't even had the balls to stop her " he says angrily.
"And despite that, I tried to call you, and I even texted, but you were too busy to reply or call." "What rubbish are you talking about? I've texted you both at least a million times. "
