Will

I heard my phone ringing from down the side of the sofa, waking me up from a deep sleep. I wriggled around in my sleeping bag to free my arms and reach for the the phone. By the time i had found it the call had been cut. As i was about to put it down it ran again. I answered it and cleared my throat.

"Hello?" my voice sounded husky and tired.

"Guess who?" I imagined her warming smile. I felt giddy on my feet every time I heard her voice. Are you kidding me, had I really just said that? That girl was changing me.

"I don't know give me some clues?"

She didn't seem to pick up that i was teasing her. "Will it's me... Libby."

"Of course i know it's you beautiful, i could recognise that voice anywhere."

I heard her laugh nervously from the other side of the phone. "Anyway, we're at the beach."

"Already?" I choked out, standing upright.

"Er... Will. Have you seen the time?"

I looked at the time on my phone and saw it was eleven O' C'lock. "We were pretty tired! We'll be there in half an hour."

We both laughed and then she hung up the phone. I scanned her caller ID photo, wondering how in hell I'd managed to get her.

I went into the kitchen and fried some eggs to have with toast, hoping the smell would wake Alex. Jogging from one end to the other i successfully managed to burn the toast and the eggs. What was happening to me? This is definitely something Libby would do.

I jogged up the stairs and put on my shorts and a polo shirt, bushing through my hair quickly. I plated up the incinerated breakfast and decided it was time for Alex to wake up.

I threw a pillow at his head. "Wake up sleeping beauty."

He rolled off the sofa onto the floor with a loud crash and by the looks of his expression, frightening himself to death. I laughed when he stood up, trying to look casual.

"The girls are waiting for us down at the beach."

"OK,"he mumbled with his eyes half closed.

Alex stumbled into the kitchen and sat on one of the bar stools. "Man... What happened?" He said looking down at his plate.

"I guess I got distracted."

Alex shrugged his shoulders and grabbed some cutlery from the draw. I guess I should know by now that he's not really bothered by what he eats.

We ate our breakfast and then Alex went to go and get changed whilst i went and fetched our boards from the garage. I slipped on my flip flops and my RayBan's, hovering in the doorway waiting for Alex to come down.

"How long does it take a boy to get dressed?" I shouted up the stairs, earning a sarcastic comment and a punch on the shoulder when he finally came downstairs. He picked up one of the boards that were propped up against the wall and followed me out of the door.

After scanning the beach for a good five minutes, we finally spotted the girls lying on their towels.

As we walked closer, they looked up briefly, smiling, before going back to their conversation that sounded like it had been going on for a long time.

"I can't believe she would say that! especially after what she did last week! And I honestly thought he was better than that." Libby spoke without time for breath.

The girls carried on not seeming bothered we were listening. "I know! I never thought he'd sink that low! I mean c'mon! Everyone knows what she's capable of!"
