Narrator's POV

Astrid hugged her blanket close, shivering as the storm grew colder and louder around her. Thunder boomed, and strange noises came from the edge, making her feel uneasy.

The dragons were in the stables, so Stormfly wasn't there to keep her company. She wished she could go to Hiccup and feel safe, but their relationship was still new, and she felt too shy to bother him.

So, she stayed where she was, hoping he might come looking for her, even though she felt a little scared alone in the storm.

A loud crack of lightning flashed across the sky, and Astrid flinched so hard she couldn't stay put any longer. She took a deep breath, stepped outside, and ran through the storm toward Hiccup's hut.

The wind whipped around her, and thunder crashed, but she kept going, her heart pounding. When she reached his door, she knocked quickly, only to flinch again as another flash of lightning lit up the sky.

The door opened, and there stood Hiccup, looking surprised to see her. He noticed right away that she was shivering, and his expression softened with concern.

"Oh thor, come in Astrid." Hiccup let Astrid in and Toothless immediately came up to her.

"Toothless, put more fire." Toothless blasted the more fire to the fire place.

Hiccup led Astrid upstairs to his room and had her sit on his bed. As she looked over at his desk, she noticed he had been busy with something important.

Right away, she felt bad for interrupting and told him she was sorry for being a distraction.

Hiccup quickly sat beside her, gently held her face in his hands, and looked into her eyes, letting her know she hadn't bothered him at all.

"I really didn't mean to," Astrid continued, her voice barely above a whisper. "I was afraid of the storm, and I couldn't help but run to you."

Hiccup smiled softly, his eyes full of understanding. "And I'm glad you did," he replied, squeezing her hands gently. "You're never a distraction, Astrid. I'd do anything to make you feel safe. I know how much you hate the storm."

Astrid looked down, a little embarrassed. "I just... I didn't want to seem weak, running over here because of a little thunder," she admitted.

Hiccup shook his head, his smile gentle. "Hey, it's not weakness," he reassured her, still holding her hands. "Everyone has something they're afraid of. Besides, I'd rather you come to me than face it alone."

She looked up at him, her eyes softening. "You really don't mind?"

"Of course not," Hiccup replied, squeezing her hands a bit tighter. "I'd be here any time, storm or no storm. You can always count on me."

Astrid felt warmth spread through her chest, and a small smile appeared on her face. "Thank you, Hiccup. I don't know what I'd do without you."

Hiccup chuckled softly. "Luckily, you don't have to find out."

Astrid wrapped her arms around Hiccup, pulling him into a warm hug. He hugged her back tightly, whispering, "There will always be a Hiccup and Astrid."

Astrid couldn't help but chuckle at his words, feeling her worries melt away. She felt so safe here with him, as if nothing outside could reach them. Hiccup gently pulled back, brushing a few stray hairs from her face.

"Okay, let me clean up, and I'll join you in bed," he said, giving her a reassuring smile.

Astrid nodded, watching him as he moved around, tidying up his workspace before getting ready for bed. A sense of calm settled over her as she waited, listening to the soft sounds of the storm outside.

When Hiccup finally climbed into bed beside her, he pulled her close, wrapping his arm around her protectively.

As they settled into bed, Hiccup and Astrid lay close, quietly chatting about the future. Their voices were soft, blending with the fading sounds of the storm outside.

They started talking about Berk, their beloved home, and all the memories they'd made there. Hiccup shared his hopes for Berk's future, imagining it thriving and growing stronger.

Astrid nodded, envisioning a peaceful Berk, where everyone could live without fear.

Their conversation drifted to the Edge-the island they now called home with their friends. "I wonder how much longer we'll stay here," Astrid said thoughtfully. "It's strange to think how much this place has become a part of us."

Hiccup nodded. "The Edge feels like home now too. I mean, look at everything we've done here. It's almost hard to imagine life without the Edge and all the challenges we've faced."

They spoke about the battles with Ryker and Viggo, the enemies who had brought so much hardship to their lives.

Even as they talked about the struggles and danger, there was a sense of pride and unity in their voices.

They'd been through so much together, and somehow, that made them stronger.

Then, after a brief silence, Astrid looked over at Hiccup, a gentle smile on her face. "And us?" she asked softly. "Where do you see us?"

Hiccup's eyes softened as he looked at her. "Wherever we go, wherever we end up-Berk, the Edge, anywhere-I want us to be together. I can't imagine a future without you, Astrid."

Astrid reached for his hand, intertwining her fingers with his. "Me neither, Hiccup. We've always been a team, and we always will be."

"Thank you for everything, Hiccup." Astrid murmured to him and Hiccup squeezed her hand.

"Anything for you m'lady." Hiccup smiled and pulled Astrid closer to him.

They stayed like that, hand in hand, sharing dreams and promises, feeling closer than ever. Eventually, with their hopes for the future and love for each other in their hearts, they drifted off to sleep, ready to face whatever awaited them together.
