Heather’s POV
“Look, Astrid, you and Hiccup are clearly made for each other. I’ve seen the way he looks at you!” I said with a teasing grin.
Astrid shook her head and let out a frustrated sigh as she threw her axe at the nearby tree. It didn’t even come close to the bullseye—landing far off to the side.
Her shoulders slumped. She turned to me with a small, sad smile.
“Then why hasn’t he made a move yet, Heather? I’ve kissed him. On the lips. Three times. Maybe he just… doesn’t feel the same way,” she muttered, walking over to retrieve her axe.
“Or maybe,” I said with a knowing smirk, “he wants everything to be perfect. You know Hiccup—he’s a total perfectionist.”
Astrid gave a soft chuckle and sighed dreamily, her fingers tightening around the axe handle.
“Hiccup is so perfect, Heather. He always puts others first. Do you know how many times he willingly gave up the Dragon Eye just to save me? I just… I wish if he did have feelings, he’d show it.”
I walked over and placed my hands gently on her shoulders, smiling warmly.
“Time will tell, Astrid. You never know… maybe soon, you two will be a couple,” I said, nudging her teasingly.
Astrid let out a laugh and rolled her eyes.
“Come on, let’s head back to the gang. The sun’s going down, and you know how much I hate the cold,” she said, walking toward the edge of the woods.
An idea sparked in my mind, and I smirked as I followed after her.
“Yeah… you really hate the cold,” I murmured, already formulating my plan.

The Next Day
Hiccup’s POV
“Hiccup!”
My head snapped up at the sound of Astrid’s voice, just as my door slammed open. There she stood—frantic, panting, clutching a piece of paper in her hand.
I rushed to her immediately.
“Hey, hey, calm down. What’s going on?” I asked, standing directly in front of her.
“It’s Heather!” she cried. “She’s trapped on a snowy island. She said in this letter that Windshear’s wings are injured—she can’t fly!”
My heart dropped. “What? How did the letter get here?”
“Her terror brought it. Hiccup, we have to rescue her—now!” Her voice cracked with emotion, eyes glossy with tears.
I placed my hands on her shoulders gently. “Okay. We’ll find her. I promise.”
Without hesitation, she threw her arms around me. I held her close, letting her bury her worry in my embrace. When I pulled back, I gave her a reassuring smile and turned to Toothless, nodding.

“So, uh, Hiccup,” Fishlegs asked, his brow furrowed with concern, “how do we even start? All she mentioned was a snowy island.”
“I don’t know exactly,” I admitted. “But we may have to split up. We don’t know how much time Heather has out there in the cold.”
“My poor Heather,” Snotlout added dramatically. “All alone in the snow… probably needing a warm hug from me when we—I mean I rescue her.”
That earned a glare from both Fishlegs and Astrid.
“What?” Snotlout scoffed, rolling his eyes.
I just shook my head and sighed.
