"If you want to talk to Salman be my guest" Ranya mocked under her breath, sitting at the kitchen island. The look in his eyes when he had said that, as if she had fallen to the lowest of low, so much so she couldn't move up in his mind. The way he spat those words at her, with venom in his voice and fury in his eyes made her want to curl up into a ball and cry.

How dare he? It was all Ranya could think, especially after what he told Sana. Pretending to have nothing but a coworker relationship with her and lying to Ranya's face was absurd on it's own, but to assume she was like him because Salman was calling opened her eyes.

He wasn't the Saad she had fallen for, and she didn't care to even like the new one. But, since she had a day off because of the long weekend, she kind of wished they could be civil with each other. Since the fight took place, it was clear she meant nothing to Saad. He had been ignoring her, but he was much better at it than she was.

It was strange, hard to describe, but even with all the hatred she felt for him, she didn't want him to ignore her. She wanted him to grovel, she wanted him to come to his senses and try to win her over. Instead, he gave up. She knew it was futile, and childish of her to want that, but that's just how she felt.

Hearing the hum of his engine through the window, Ranya contemplated getting up and leaving as if she had never been there. As much as she would love to shove it in his face, how little she cares about his attention, even if it isn't true, this was just as much her home as it was his. If he wanted to leave, he could. With the door unlocking, she could hear him shuffling behind her back, taking his shoes off, throwing his jacket to the side, then his keys, and heading straight to his office.

Saad had had a terribly long day, again, for the millionth time. It used to be bearable, since he didn't have annoying pests like Sana trying to get his attention every possible moment. With the addition of the tension at home, Saad didn't feel like he could be comfortable anywhere. Not work, not at home, and he couldn't rant or confide in Ranya at all, especially since what he had said the other day.

He was disappointed in the entire ordeal, but most of all himself. He was always so calm, so collected. He was always able to manage his emotions, and had not once had an outburst like that. But when it came to Ranya, he was never quite able to control himself like that.

The look on her face had been haunting him day and night. During any moment of silence, any time he was supposed to rest, all he could envision was her.

"Ranya what are we doing!?" He had asked, raising his voice and interrupting her mid sentence.

It was clear he had caught her off guard, it wasn't something he'd do, and they both knew that. She had paused, confusion and bewilderment clear in her face, her eyes wide.

"Let's just- we should just stay out of each others lives. I cant keep doing this and I certainly don't have time to be wasting, arguing with you and constantly reminding you that I'm your husband." Saad had practically yelled at her, letting it all out in one breath. He wasn't sure what to expect, but he watched as her arms fell, almost like in defeat. He didn't wait around to find out, brushing right past her and out the door.

He needed to breathe, he needed to calm down. He couldn't figure out why he had reacted like that in the first place, he would not do something like that. But the idea that she was in contact with Salman drove him to the edge, he wanted to burst. He wanted to yell, shout, he wanted to break things.

Instead, he took a deep breath, gripping his steering wheel with such force he nearly left dents in it. He didn't know where to go, or who to turn to. He had people he cared about, people he felt he could share his struggles with. But not for this.
