Our last mission was near-just one more, and we would meet the quota for promotion. However, to meet the requirement, we needed to join a larger team. That's when we were invited to temporarily join a B rank party, a chance to learn and grow from more experienced adventurers. At first, I was wary. We had always worked as a duo, and the thought of trusting strangers didn't sit well with me. But when I saw the kindness in their eyes, I decided to put my reservations aside.
The group was all male, and they welcomed us warmly. I thought nothing of it at the time. They were B rank adventurers, after all, and it was an honor to be included. What I didn't know, though, was that I had just unwittingly stepped into a trap.
