I knew I couldn’t keep going like this. Elesis’s power was growing, but so was the darkness within her. If I didn’t do something soon, I feared she would lose herself completely—and I would lose her forever.
But what could I do? How could I save someone who didn’t want to be saved?
As we traveled, I began to search for answers. I asked questions in towns and villages, spoke to scholars and mystics, hoping to find some way to free Elesis from the dark power that had consumed her. It was dangerous, of course. If Elesis ever found out what I was doing, I wasn’t sure how she would react. But I had to try. For her. For us.
And then, finally, I found a lead. A legend of an ancient artifact hidden deep within the mountains—a relic said to have the power to purify even the darkest of souls. It was a long shot, but it was the only hope I had left.
Now, I just had to figure out how to get there without Elesis finding out. And that was a challenge I wasn’t sure I was ready to face.
Because as much as I loved her, as much as I wanted to save her, I knew one thing for certain: Elesis would never let me go willingly. And if she ever discovered what I was planning, she wouldn’t hesitate to stop me. No matter the cost.
