Days passed in a blur as I recovered from my wounds, but even as my body healed, the tension between us only grew. Elesis never left my side, watching me with a gaze so intense, so consuming, that it made me question whether I could survive her obsession.
I knew deep down that I needed to confront her, to make her see that this wasn’t the way we were supposed to be. But every time I tried, her eyes would harden, and I would see that dark, unyielding resolve in her face. It was like speaking to a wall—there was no reaching her.
“Elesis, I—” I started one evening, as we sat together in the campfire’s glow.
“You don’t need to say anything,” she interrupted, her voice soft, but there was something in it that made my heart race. “I already know. You’re scared. But that’s okay. You don’t need to be afraid of me, Zach. You’re safe. You’re with me now. You’ll always be with me.”
I swallowed hard. The words I wanted to say were caught in my throat, tangled with the fear and the love I still felt for her.
But deep down, I knew that things would never be the same. This was a new chapter, one where love and obsession intertwined in a dangerous dance, where the boundaries of right and wrong had blurred. And as I looked at Elesis, sitting across from me with that smile, with those dark, glowing eyes, I knew I was stuck.
Stuck with her. Forever.
