I survived. Barely.
The rushing water carried me away, and though my wounds were severe, I managed to hold on to life. It was sheer willpower that kept me alive. I dragged myself from the stream, battered and bloodied, but alive. My first thought was of Elesis-she was still in danger, and I needed to save her.
With every step I took, my body screamed in protest, my wounds worsening with each movement. But I had no choice. Elesis was everything to me. I had to protect her, no matter the cost.
