Twenty Nine

Beau's POV

After Danielle went up to bed, Brooke and I stayed downstairs and played with Aria. It was crazy to think that I had two kids. Like, throughout Danielle's pregnancy with Brooke, I was so nervous because I didn't see myself as a father figure and I still got scared that I would screw up. Throughout my whole life I've just thought of myself as being a screw up. From about 16 to 22 my life went downhill. I cared for my hockey and that was it. I was a real party animal. But then I met Danielle. I will be truthful though, I didn't see myself marrying her or having two kids with her. I saw us having a future but not this serious. It took me three years to propose to her, I'm not just saying that because it was like a duty to marry her after she had my kid. After Brooke was born, I realised that I wanted so much more with Danielle. I wanted to marry her, I wanted to call her my wife but I was scared. She could have said no, Sid could have disapproved. But I went against my thoughts and bought the ring, and it stayed in my suitcase for three years. The day that I proposed to Danielle was planned, I had finally built up enough courage but I had a feeling I would chicken out. Then when we dropped Brooke off at school and I saw the look on Danielle's face when she said "actually we're not married", I knew that I was going to propose. If I didn't, I would be a fool. And now here we are, married with two kids, that's how I know that I didn't screw up this time. Danielle was the best choice I've ever made in my life.

"Daddy, can we walk Aria?" Brooke asked.

"We can walk Aria if you promise me not to run off. Ok?" She nodded and I went upstairs to write a note for Danielle so she knew where I had taken the kids. After doing that, I picked Jace up and walked downstairs with him in my arms. I decided to not put him in the buggy because it would be easier. Brooke got Aria ready and we walked out to go to the park. As we were walking, a family came up to me.

"I know this is rude because you are with your family but can we have a photo with you?" The guy asked.

"God don't think it's rude. Of course I will." I replied making him smile. "That's if you don't mind having the kids in it." I added making him laugh. I took the photo with them, Brooke was literally glued to my side. I chuckled at her as she walked slightly in front of me with Aria on the leash.

"Dad, can we go and surprise uncle Bortz?" Brooke asked making me smile at her.

"We can try, I have to see what he's doing first." She nodded and we decided to head back home. I looked down at Jace in m arms and noticed that he was awake. "Hey buddy." I spoke to him even though I obviously knew that I wouldn't get a reaction. We got to the house and I opened the door as Brooke ran in with Aria. I walked into the living room and saw Danielle on the couch. "Hey babe."

"Have a nice walk?" She asked as I sat next to her.

"Yeah, we bumped into some fans that wanted a photo, Brooke didn't run off and Jace has only just woke up." I told her as she stuck her arms out signalling that she wanted Jace. I passed her Jace and there was a knock on the door so I went to open it. When I opened it I was greeted with my best friend.

"Surprise Sunshine!" Rob greeted making me smile.

"Hey Bortz! Hey Isabelle." I spoke as I invited them in.

"Hey guys!" Danielle greeted them as they sat on the couch opposite her. "Want to hold him?" She asked Isabelle who was happily smiling at Jace. Isabelle nodded so Danielle gently passed Jace to her resulting in Isabelle's smile grow.

"Look at him Rob! He's so cute." She cooed making us all smile. I sat next to Danielle and she cuddled into my side. Brooke obviously haven't heard Bortz's voice. "He's so cute. I want one." Isabelle said making Bortz smile at her.

"Where's my princess?" He asked as we heard footsteps running down the stairs. "Princess!" Robert shouted making Brooke run faster.

"Uncle Tuzzo!" She spoke as she ran and jumped onto his lap. "I've missed you!"

"I've missed you too Brooke." I saw that Danielle took a quick picture of Isabelle, Jace, Rob and Brooke because it was really cute.

"I got a dog!"

"Really? Well you must have been a really good girl for mommy and daddy." She nodded which made us nod and Jace started to cry.

"I'll take him." Danielle told Isabelle as she took Jace off Isabelle and went upstairs to probably change him. I looked over at Bortz who was talking to Brooke, when he got traded I thought that we would lose contact but I'm so glad that we are as close as we use to be.

"I want to ask you something." Beau started. "Will you be my best man?" I smiled at him and nodded.

"Of course I will." He smiled back and Brooke looked at Rob.

"And I want to know if you want to be a bridesmaid." Isabelle asked Brooke making her nod. She hugged Isabelle and Rob just had the happiest look on his face.
