A/N - Just to clarify, Brooke is 16 and Jace is 13.

Danielle's POV

Beau was still pissed that I didn't want Jace and Brooke to move with him, but who would want their kids to move 5 hours away from them. He's now suggested getting lawyers and the courts involved to see if he can get 50/50 custody. I sat on the couch as the kids played upstairs. Brooke was being amazing to Jace. Anything Jace wanted, she made it happen. She would leave school 10 minutes early so she could go and pick him up, I couldn't ask for a better daughter. Jace wasn't coping too well, he missed Beau. Brooke was adamant that she didn't need Beau, she was trying to be strong but you could tell that she wanted to break. Although she was amazing with Jace, she was starting to act up majorly.

"Mom, I'm off to meet my friends." She shouted at me before she left the house. I sighed and got off the couch to find Jace. He was most likely playing with our cat Simba. As I got upstairs I saw him and Simba lying on his bed all curled up.

"What's wrong Jace?" I asked him as I sat on the edge of his bed.

"I miss Brooke." He said.

"Jace, buddy, she's been gone like 30 seconds." I replied with a laugh.

"No mom, I miss the old Brooke. I miss the Brooke who would let me call dad when I missed him." He started to tear up.

"Baby, you can always called your dad. Just because me and your dad have separated, it doesn't mean I won't let you speak to him. And Brooke is your sister, she'll always look out for you."

"All she does is speak to Shawn." I looked at him confused before walking into my daughter's bedroom and opening up her laptop which was luckily already opened on instagram. I looked down her page and was in amazement that my only daughter had a secret boyfriend. I quickly picked up my phone and did the only thing I knew what to do.

'To Beau Bennett
So, when were you going to tell me about our daughter's boyfriend?'

'From Beau Bennett
You haven't met Shawn?'

'To Beau Bennett
Clearly not Beau'

'From Beau Bennett
She told me that you had met him. I'm still at my old apartment, this is serious Danielle.'

I sighed and quickly text Kris to see if he could possibly look after Jace for me. He agreed so I text Beau back telling him that I would be 10 minutes. Kris arrived and I told him a snippet of what was going on. I then made my way over to Beau's old apartment to talk about our child's lying and to see if Beau had anything else to tell me about Brooke and Shawn. When I pulled up at the complex I sighed, there were so many good memories that I had with this place and now they're being tarnished because of Beau's new girlfriend. I knocked on the door and Beau was quick to open it.

"Hey Danielle."

"Hi Beau." He invited me in and we both sat down on the couch. "Have you known about Shawn for 4 years?" I asked him.

"No? She introduced him to me about 3 months ago. She said that she hadn't told you yet because she was scared which is why I didn't say anything. She told me last week that he was staying at your house."

"Beau, last week she told me that she was staying with you! I let her because she told me that you guys were getting somewhat better." I admitted. I felt stupid for not realising that my daughter had been lying to me.

"She definitely didn't stay with me. She said that she had asked you but you said no, that you wanted to stick with the agreement of them living with you and that you wouldn't let Jace call me. That's why I want 50/50, I don't want to be a deadbeat dad." Our daughter was playing us against each other.

"I have never said that Jace couldn't call you Beau! I encourage it. What I have said to them, and what I've said to you also, is that I don't want them being around your new girlfriend until it gets more serious. Our divorce is not even finalised yet, I don't want them to be rushed into something that might not work out. I'm also not happy with driving back and forth to drop them to you but I'll do it because you're their father. Beau I'm not making you out to be a deadbeat dad. You're a great dad and I want them to always know that you've tried to see them. Just because you broke my heart, it doesn't mean that I will take it out on you and spite my children."
