Love At First Sight - Beau Bennett

It was the week after and Beau and I were down the arena for the family skate. Obviously Brooke and I couldn't go on the ice as she was only a week old but Beau was still going down. Beau was on the ice and I was sat on the bench with Brooke in my arms when Letang skated over to us.

"Ah look at the baby!" He cooed making Beau and I laugh. "Guys she's so cute." I smiled at him and he skated off the ice and went over to a bag. He pulled out of gift bag and handed it to me.

"Beau, can you hold Brooke please." He took her off me and started making cute faces at her before kissing her cheek making her giggle slightly. I opened the gift bag and saw a baby Pens jersey with Bennett on the back. "Krissy!" I got up and hugged Letang before helping Beau put the jersey on Brooke. "She looks so cute!" I went to take Brooke back off Beau but he just continued to hold her.

"No Dan." He said making me laugh as Sid skated over.

"Look at my gorgeous niece!" Sid commented as he stood next to Beau. "Who got her the Bennett jersey?" He asked making me point at Letang. "It's so cute." We laughed slightly and Beau passed her back to me before skating off the ice and sitting next to me. "Every time I look at her, I can just see Beau." He then said making us laugh again. He was right though, Brooke was the image of Beau. Beau went into the baby bag that Geno bought us and pulled out a little pair of gloves. He put them on her and took her back off me.

"Beau, shouldn't you be skating?" I asked as Sid and Letang skated away.

"Why? It's a family skate and my family is sat at the sides." I smiled at him and he smiled back. "Shall we just go?" He passed me Brooke and she smiled at me.

"Don't you have to stay?" He shook his head before taking off his skates and putting his shoes back on. He picked up his skates and then took Brooke off me as I took the baby bag and the buggy. Sid skated over to us so I hugged him quickly before he skated back on the ice to skate with his new girlfriend Jessica. We got to his car, I put the buggy in the trunk and Beau put Brooke in her seat before we both got in the car. We drove back home and decided that we were just going to chill out. I put Brooke in her little play pen and she giggled at the sight of her favourite toy, it was a unicorn teddy bear. Beau went and sat next to the play pen and started tickling her tummy. I took a photo before placing my phone down and just watching my amazing boyfriend enjoying the company of our daughter.

"So, your 20th birthday is soon. What do you want?" Beau asked seeing as my birthday is in a week.

"Nothing Beau. I didn't want anything for Christmas and you got me the best present ever.

"It was pretty shit if you think about it." He said making me laugh. He got me a framed photo of Beau and I at the beach, a new Bennett jersey and a diamond necklace. It was really nice.

"Shut up Beau I loved it. I really don't want anything ok." He nodded and stood up before standing in front of me.

"I have to go for an interview now so will you be ok on your own?" I nodded and he kissed me before walking over to Brooke, kissing her and walking out.

+Beau's POV+

When I arrived at the interview room, Sid and Bortz were there. I fist pumped them and sat down. The interviewers were all there and they set everything up.

Interview

Interviewer - "So Beau, I think a big congratulations is in order. "

Beau - "Thanks guys."

Interviewer - "What's it like? I know that you've only experienced it for a week now but how do you feel?"

Beau - "unbelievable. I literally love it. I know that it will get a lot harder but I feel that Danielle and I will be able to cope. Our families are so supportive a-"

Sid- "And she obviously has the best uncle in the world." Sid butted in making us laugh.

Beau- "Yeah, well, they uh, they have helped us a lot."

Interviewer- "What was it like when Danielle had to go to Toronto?"

Beau- "in all fairness, we spoke about it that night and we were both in shock. She wasn't going to accept it but I felt that she really wanted it so I accepted it for her. I missed her a lot and I think if we didn't have Brooke, she would still be down there."

Interviewer- "You've been with Danielle for a while now, am I right?"

Beau- "well, we've been together for a few months, I'd say almost a year."

Sid- "it's almost a year Sunshine. You got together a few weeks after her 19th." Sid shouted making me nod.

Bortz- "Now that we are speaking of Danielle, Beau, are you thinking of popping the question any time soon?" Bortz shouted making me chuckle.

Beau- "I've been thinking about it but then I realise that we don't really need a wedding to be in love. Of course I will pop the question but I don't think I will soon. God I sound like a jerk. Ok, what I mean is, we have so much stuff going on with Brooke being born and me constantly traveling, I just want to slow things down slightly and so we can just enjoy being in a relationship before the 'wedding stress'."

Sid - "haven't you already given her a ring Beau?" He asked making me chuckle slightly. Of course Danielle would have told him.

Interviewer- "What ring have you give Danielle?"

Beau- "just a promise one before Brooke was born. I had got worried that our relationship would get found out and one of us would be in big crap about it so I bought her this Tiffany&Co ring that she liked and gave it too her at the beach. I really love her and I couldn't afford to loose her. Sid, if she has told you anything else, I wanna know."

Sid- "Nope, nothing else. Apart from showing me pictures of you and Brooke. Yeah. I'm sorry about that Sunshine, my sister can be a bit weird with photos some times." We all started laughing.

Interviewer- "Well Beau, thanks for your time, we hope that this season stays injury free for a while and we wish you and Danielle all the best." I thanked them before walking away and barging into Sid.

Interview over

Sid laughed and put his kit in his stall for the game tomorrow. Bortz and I did the same before we all made our way back home. When I got home, I opened the door and saw Danielle sleeping on the couch. I went into Brooke's room and noticed her sleeping so I walked back out of her room and back to the living room. I carefully picked Danielle up and took her into our room. I placed her on the bed and wrapped her up in the blanket. I got in next to her and went to sleep.
