One of the ten worst things you can say to your closest friends is that you are dating. The conversation is all about admitting you're soft and that you have a weakness. Fortunately, Jax is not one of those best friends who would rather for you to keep your feelings to yourself than discuss them, so his response essentially captures how he felt:

"MILO! YOU WHORE!" He started laughing and slapping my shoulder. "You didn't even break up with Lucy properly!"

"Well, I did try. I think she's quite uninterested in dating me." I answer him, trying not to meet his eyes. "She hasn't called me back in a month."

"Yeah! But technically, you didn't break up with her." Jax is trying to hold his laughter, although failing miserably.

"Whatever." I roll my eyes.

"Dude, you have to tell Juniper you had a crazy ex-girlfriend." Those words make me freeze in place; we've just started dating, and I don't want this kind of drama right at the start of the relationship.

"You think Lucy's crazy?"

"Hell yeah, man. She was creepy, the way she followed you around and tried to boss you." I didn't know Jax felt the same way as I feel about Lucy. He has never voiced his thoughts about her up until now. "And the way she changed her whole personality based on the people she was with... that girl wasn't good in the head." I nod, agreeingly. Lucy was indeed just like Jax described.

"What are you guys talking about?" I heard Sonny's voice coming from behind me. I feel like a kid who just got caught doing something wrong.

"Lucy." Jax is faster to answer. I turn around to see Sonny in his pajamas (are those new?).

"Lucy?" Sonny blinked twice, dumbfounded. "Mike's girlfriend?"

"Mike?" Jax and I say at the same time.

"Who's Mike?" Jax complements.

"Mike, you know... The baseball guy."

"Wait, wait, wait... Are we talking about the same person?" I cross my arms.

"Yeah, Lucy, your ex-girlfriend...? She's now dating Mike." Jax's jaw falls open, and I open my eyes widely. "I found out because Linda called me a couple days ago." Is that the reason why Lucy didn't return my calls? Because she cheated on me with Mike?

"Am I the whore now?" I shoot a judging look.

"Dude, I just found out!" Jax defends himself, still exasperated.

"What are y'all talking about?" Sonny asks, confused. "Is there something I don't know?" He's curious and thirsty for gossip. Jax knows better than to give me away.

"Nothing." I answer, trying to keep my cool. "I just found it weird that Lucy hadn't returned my calls for a month. Now I know why."

"Ah, man. That sucks." Sonny puts his arm around my shoulders. "Don't worry, a hot girl is coming your way." He tapped my chest and walked away.
