I feel good that I'm getting out of the house for a change

I feel good that I'm getting out of the house for a change. I told Avril about my plans and told her she could do whatever she wanted during the day. She cheered up when I told her about my plans, which made me feel a little better after all the trouble she went through for the past few days.

Milo knocks on my door by the time I'm ready to leave. I dressed up in a floral baby blue bikini and a white dress that ties on the back:

"Wow, June!" He exclaims once I open the door. His eyes shine when he looks me up and down in amazement. "You look stunning!" I give him a twirl and I giggle. He makes me feel like I'm the prettiest girl alive.

"Thank you. So do you." He's in beach shorts (thick black and white stripes) and a Band T-shirt, yet he looks the most handsome to me when he's just himself. He also gives me a twirl and I can't hold my laugh in.

"Let's go?" He puts out his hand for me to hold; I happily reach for it and intertwine our fingers. I wave Avril goodbye, and we wander off to the beach.

We set up our towels in the sand - not too close to the water, but also not too close to the entrance - and I put down my straw bag next to both towels.

"Did you put on sunscreen?" I ask, sitting down on my towel.

"Yeah." I look him serious into his eyes, and I can tell he's bluntly lying. "Okay, maybe nooot-"

"Come here." I demand, looking for my sunscreen in my bag. He sits down on my towel after taking his shirt off, and I face his back. "You'll get all red if you don't apply sunscreen." I pour a generous amount of the liquid onto my hand and then rub it all over his back and shoulders. "Turn around." He turns around 180º, and we're face-to-face while I apply sunscreen to his face and chest.

This feels oddly intimate, yet I don't complain.

When I'm done, he leans for a kiss, and I give it to him. It lasts slightly longer than it should.

I'm left blushing when he gets up and unties his hair. I have to get up myself and look down just so he doesn't notice my red face.

"Wanna go in the water?"

"Yeah, sure." I untie the bow on the back of the dress and slide it up my body.
