Kokichi's POV:
My entire body convulses painfully as memories of my life return, hitting me like a flash. Everything. I remember all of it. The game. My parents. The people I have killed. Everything.
"Kokichi...?" Shuichi's gentle voice pulls me from my trance. I jolt and sit up, panting heavily as I stare around my room.
I can't think, I can't breathe. I am sick.
"Shuichi," I stare at him, my eyes wide. I remember it all. Everything we've done together. I remember every man he has ever killed for me. Four men. He's killed four men. For some reason, I guess he draws the line at killing women. I can understand that though.
"Are you...?"
"Yeah. I remember it all," I reply, looking away from him. I can't even process anything anymore. Everything is a lie. I am a lie.
"Now that you remember, do you understand why nobody else can know?" Shuichi asks, joining me on the side of the bed. My heart pounds even fast as he sits next to me, placing a hand on my back. Every touch from him makes me explode.
"Yes. What do we do now? Do we stop the game-," Shuichi cuts me off immediately.
"Absolutely not. Now that you have your memories back, it's time to join the other side," Shuichi's expression is sinister as he leans closer to me. "Our job is to orchestrate the rest of the killings or at least interfere and make it far more entertaining."
I subconsciously lean away from him as I avoid his eyes. His hand roughly grips my chin, forcing me to look at him.
"Kokichi, do not make me regret this."
I quickly nod fearfully, unable to speak. Turn everyone against each other? I mean, there's so much money on the line here and fame. When we get out of here, we're going to be stars. Is that worth it at this point?
Maybe, I don't know. I'm just sick of all the blood and betrayal. Maybe I should just do this for Shuichi. Afterall, he could go down for murder for me. The least I can do is help make him a star.
"Okay, okay. We're in it for the money, right?" I ask. Shuichi nods rapidly.
"Remember, we're going to use the money to get our own place off campus and-and we're going to get married," Shuichi eagerly recites our plans. I give him a wide smile unable to mask my emotion. Before we entered this place, we made the agreement to get married and leave this place with the money we make from the game. Everything is all planned out, only now my memories are scattered, and my brain is in peril as I try to understand anything anymore.
"Yeah, I remember. With that being said, I'll help. I'll help you fuck with the game," I reply. Shuichi shakes his head at me.
"Baby, we're still trying to win. Now, we can either murder someone to get out of here and I strike a deal, or we catch the mastermind. Either way, we are still contestants, memories or not, we have to follow the rules," Shuichi explains, moving a strand of hair behind my ear.
"I understand," I reply, leaning into his touch. No matter what I think or say, this man is everything I could ever need or want in my entire life. Shuichi is so perfect, no matter which version of me I am, I still love him. We have such a powerful bond that even with our memories erased, we remained in love. That says so much about our love. I'm an idiot to have ever thought I could spend another moment apart without him.
"Kokichi, you're so beautiful," Shuichi leaves kisses on my neck before taking me into his arms. His embrace is warm as I listen to the lullaby of his heart. I could pass out. I should pass out. "Sleep, baby."
