Monaco mornings were as close to perfect as it got. The sun bathed the city in a golden hue, the sea sparkled like scattered diamonds, and the faint hum of life beginning its day filled the air. Logan stretched out on the couch in Lando’s apartment, the cool breeze from the open balcony doors teasing his skin. The past week had been chaotic, but moments like this made it all worth it.
Lando padded out of the bedroom, hair still a mess, a sheepish grin on his face. “You’re up early,” he mumbled, flopping onto the couch beside Logan.
“Early?” Logan snorted, pointing to the clock on the wall. “It’s almost ten.”
“Okay, fine. But it’s Monaco. Time doesn’t exist here,” Lando said, resting his head on Logan’s lap. He tilted his head to meet Logan’s gaze, grinning. “You good?”
Logan ran his fingers through Lando’s hair absently. “Yeah. Just thinking about the race.”
Lando studied him for a moment before sitting up. “You’re nervous.” It wasn’t a question.
Logan shrugged. “A bit. But not about me. It’s you I’m worried about.”
“Me?” Lando raised an eyebrow. “Why?”
“You’ve got so much on your plate—media, fans, expectations—and now me. I just…” Logan hesitated, his hands fidgeting. “I don’t want to make things harder for you.”
Lando leaned forward, cupping Logan’s face with both hands. “You don’t make anything harder. You’re the only thing that keeps me sane through all of this.”
Logan’s expression softened, but his brow remained furrowed. “It’s just… What if someone finds out? We agreed to keep this quiet, but after the party, what if one of the guys slips up?”
Lando sighed, dropping his hands to his lap. “I’ve thought about that. But honestly? I don’t care. I care about you, Logan. If people find out, we deal with it. Together.”
Logan wanted to argue, but the sincerity in Lando’s voice silenced him. Instead, he nodded, letting the moment settle between them.

The days leading up to the Monaco Grand Prix were a blur of activity. Between practice sessions, media duties, and team meetings, Lando and Logan barely had a moment to themselves. They kept things professional in the paddock, exchanging only quick glances and brief smiles when they passed each other.
Oscar, however, wasn’t about to let them off that easy.
“You two are terrible at hiding it, you know,” he teased, leaning against the McLaren garage wall.
“Don’t know what you’re talking about,” Lando said, not bothering to look up from his race notes.
Oscar smirked, arms crossed. “Right. Because staring at Logan every time he walks by isn’t obvious at all.”
Lando’s ears turned pink, but he didn’t respond.

Monaco to Hungary. Four races, four weekends, and the space between them felt like another world entirely
The weeks between Spain and Canada were a blur of flights, training, and stolen moments together. One rainy evening in London, they found themselves curled up on the couch in Lando’s apartment, a movie playing in the background. Logan’s head rested on Lando’s shoulder, his legs draped over Lando’s lap.
“You think anyone suspects us yet?” Logan asked, his voice low.
“Maybe,” Lando replied, absentmindedly playing with Logan’s fingers. “But they’d never say anything. Not after the party.”
Logan snorted. “I still can’t believe you kissed me in front of all of them.”
“I don’t regret it,” Lando said, turning to look at him. “Not for a second.”
Logan smiled, leaning up to press a soft kiss to Lando’s jaw. “Neither do I.”
By the time they reached Hungary, the highs and lows of the past four races had faded into memories. What remained was the unshakable bond they’d built, one race at a time.

Race day in the Netherlands arrived with its usual frenzy of excitement and nerves. Logan stood in the Williams garage, his arms crossed tightly over his chest as he watched Lando take his place on the grid. The two hadn’t spoken much that morning—both too focused on their respective races—but Lando had sent him a quick text just before the start:
For you.
Logan didn’t need to ask what he meant. He knew.
As the race unfolded, Logan’s eyes were glued to the screens. Lando had started from the front row, and it was clear from the first lap that he was determined to take the win. Every overtake, every lap, Logan felt his heart race in sync with the McLaren car.
When the checkered flag waved and Lando crossed the finish line first, Logan let out a breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding. The Williams garage erupted in cheers—not for him, but he didn’t care. His boyfriend had done it.
---
Logan didn’t waste any time. The second he was cleared to leave, he made his way to the McLaren side of the paddock. Security tried to stop him, but Oscar appeared out of nowhere, grinning like a kid with a secret.
“Let him through,” Oscar said.
Logan slipped past, muttering a quick “thanks” before heading straight for Lando’s room.
When he pushed the door open, Lando was sitting on the couch, his race suit half unzipped, a towel draped around his shoulders. He looked up, surprised, but his face broke into a wide grin.
“Logan!”
Before Logan could say anything, Lando was on his feet, crossing the room in a few quick strides. He pulled Logan into a tight hug, burying his face in the crook of his neck.
“You did it,” Logan whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
“We did it,” Lando corrected, pulling back just enough to look at him. “You’re part of this, too.”
Logan shook his head. “Lando, this was all you.”
“Maybe. But I wouldn’t be here without you,” Lando said softly, his hand resting on Logan’s cheek. “You keep me grounded, remind me what’s important.”
Logan felt his cheeks flush, but before he could respond, there was a knock at the door.
“Oi, lovebirds!” Oscar’s voice called from the hallway. “Celebration party starts in ten minutes. Don’t be late!”
Lando groaned, but Logan laughed, stepping back. “Guess we should get going.”
Lando grabbed his hand, squeezing it tightly. “One more minute.”
And in that minute, the chaos of the paddock, the noise of the crowd, and the weight of the world outside melted away. It was just them.
Their secret.
Their love.
