When the shelter staff arrived for the home visit, Logan had been a little nervous. He wasn't sure what they'd think of their setup, but he knew they had prepared well. Lando, however, was brimming with enthusiasm, ready to give a full tour of their puppy-proofed apartment.

"This is where her bed will go," Lando explained, pointing proudly to a corner of the living room. "And we've got toys in this bin here. Oh! And her food station is right by the kitchen. Stainless steel bowls, of course."

The shelter worker smiled, jotting down notes. "You've certainly gone above and beyond. It's clear she's going to be very loved here."

"She'll be our little princess," Lando said with a grin.

Logan stood off to the side, hands tucked into his hoodie pockets, watching Lando in action. He couldn't help but smile at how invested Lando was.

After inspecting their balcony and confirming it was safely enclosed, as well as checking the building's quiet surroundings for walks, the worker finally closed her notepad.

"I'm very impressed," she said warmly. "You two have done an amazing job preparing for her. She'll be in great hands. You can pick her up in two days."

Lando practically bounced on his feet, his excitement spilling over as he thanked the worker profusely. Logan joined him at the door to say goodbye, shaking her hand and feeling a weight lift off his chest.

The moment the door closed, Lando turned to Logan with a wide grin.

"Two days! She's officially ours in two days!"

Logan laughed, pulling Lando into a hug. "I know. You've been buzzing all day. Calm down before you explode."

"I can't help it," Lando said, pulling back slightly. "Okay, so now we need to talk names. I've been brainstorming. Wanna hear?"

Logan shook his head, amused. "You've been planning names already?"

"Of course! This is a big deal, Logan. She needs the perfect name."

"Alright," Logan said, sitting down on the couch. "Hit me with your list."

Lando joined him, pulling out his phone and scrolling through a note. "Okay, so hear me out. What do you think of 'Luna'? Or maybe 'Bella'? They're cute, right? Oh! Or 'Maple.' I've always liked that one."

Logan chuckled, leaning back against the couch. "Maple's not bad. What else you got?"

"Okay, okay. How about 'Cleo'? Short for Cleopatra, because she's basically royalty. Or...'Peanut'? I mean, come on, it's adorable."

"Peanut?" Logan raised an eyebrow, unable to suppress a smile. "Really?"

"What?" Lando said defensively, laughing. "She's tiny, and it's cute! You don't like it?"

"I didn't say that," Logan replied, shaking his head. "I think we need to meet her first, see what fits."

Lando nodded, leaning his head against Logan's shoulder. "Fair. But just you wait—Peanut might grow on you."

Logan rolled his eyes but couldn't stop smiling. Seeing Lando this happy made his heart feel lighter, even if the Briton's energy was a little overwhelming.

"Two days," Lando murmured, his voice soft with anticipation. "And then she's finally home."

Logan reached for Lando's hand, giving it a squeeze. "She's going to have the best life with us."

"Yeah," Lando said, squeezing back. "She really is."

----

The day they finally picked her up felt like Christmas morning to Lando. He'd practically dragged Logan out of bed, bouncing around the apartment as they got ready. Logan, groggy but amused, let Lando's excitement carry them through the day.
