This doesnt actually fits into the Story but i thiught About and i Like it so I thought id use it as a Special Out of Line chapter
---Logan wasn’t entirely sure how it happened, but Lando was officially down for the count. It started with a slight sniffle the morning after they landed. Lando had brushed it off, claiming it was just the plane's recycled air, but by the afternoon, it was clear that the "sniffle" had turned into a full-blown cold—or maybe even the flu.
Now, Lando lay sprawled out on the bed in their hotel room, a blanket pulled up to his chin as he groaned dramatically. Zandee was curled up in a little bed on the floor, looking up at the commotion with what Logan swore was judgment in her tiny puppy eyes.
“Logan,” Lando moaned, his voice hoarse and pitiful. “I’m dying.”
Logan stood by the bedside, arms crossed and an unimpressed look on his face. “You’re not dying. You have a cold.”
“I’m definitely dying,” Lando argued, sniffling loudly and wiping his nose with a tissue. “You’re just in denial.”
“Right. And I suppose the doctor was in denial too when she said you’d be fine in a couple of days if you actually rested and took your medicine.”
Lando groaned again, turning over and burying his face in the pillow. “The medicine tastes like poison. I don’t need it. My body can fight this on its own.”
Logan sighed, running a hand through his hair. He’d been trying to convince Lando to take the pills prescribed by the team doctor for the past two hours, but his stubborn boyfriend refused to budge. And as much as Logan wanted to strangle him for being difficult, he couldn’t help but feel a little sorry for him. Lando looked miserable, his normally bright complexion pale and blotchy, and his usual energy reduced to pitiful whining.
“Lando, come on,” Logan said, his tone softer now. “I just want you to feel better.”
“I’ll feel better if you let me die in peace,” Lando mumbled into the pillow.
Logan rolled his eyes, but he wasn’t giving up that easily. If Lando was going to be this stubborn, he’d just have to outsmart him. Grabbing his phone, Logan scrolled through his contacts until he found the number he was looking for.
“What are you doing?” Lando asked, his voice muffled.
“Calling your coach,” Logan replied nonchalantly.
Lando sat up slightly, looking alarmed. “You’re calling Jon? Why?”
“Because I need reinforcements,” Logan said, pressing the call button.
Lando groaned dramatically, flopping back down onto the bed as Logan walked into the living area to take the call.
“Hey, Logan,” Jon’s familiar voice answered on the other end. “What’s up?”
“Hey, Jon. Sorry to bother you, but I need some advice,” Logan said, glancing over his shoulder to make sure Lando wasn’t eavesdropping. “Lando’s sick, and he’s being... difficult about taking his medicine.”
Jon laughed. “Ah, classic Lando. He’s the worst when he’s sick. Stubborn as a mule.”
“Yeah, I’m starting to see that,” Logan muttered. “Do you have any tips? I’m at my wit’s end here.”
“Honestly, the best way to get him to take anything is to trick him,” Jon said. “When we’re traveling and he’s sick, we usually crush the pills and mix them into his food or drinks. He never even notices.”
Logan blinked. “You’re kidding.”
“Nope. Works every time. Just make sure the food or drink is strong enough to mask the taste of the medicine,” Jon advised.
“Got it. Thanks, Jon. I owe you one,” Logan said, feeling a surge of relief.
“Anytime. Good luck dealing with him!” Jon said with a chuckle before hanging up.
Logan pocketed his phone and walked back into the bedroom, where Lando was still lying dramatically in bed.
“Good news,” Logan said cheerfully. “I figured out how to help you feel better.”
Lando narrowed his eyes suspiciously. “I don’t like the sound of that.”
“Relax,” Logan said with a grin. “I’m just going to make you some tea. You like tea, don’t you?”
Lando eyed him warily but nodded. “Tea’s fine. But no medicine.”
“Of course,” Logan said innocently, turning to head for the kitchenette.
Once out of sight, Logan got to work. He carefully crushed the prescribed pill into a fine powder and stirred it into a steaming mug of Lando’s favorite honey-lemon tea. He made sure to add extra honey to mask the bitterness of the medicine, then carried the mug back to the bedroom with a casual smile.
“Here you go,” Logan said, handing the tea to Lando. “Drink up. It’ll help your throat.”
Lando took the mug, still looking slightly suspicious, but the comforting aroma seemed to win him over. He took a tentative sip, then another, his tense expression softening. “This is good.”
“See? Told you,” Logan said, sitting on the edge of the bed and watching as Lando slowly worked his way through the mug.
By the time Lando finished, he seemed a little more relaxed, his head sinking back into the pillow. “Thanks, Logan. You’re the best.”
Logan smiled, leaning down to press a kiss to Lando’s forehead. “Just doing my job.”
As the medicine started to take effect, Lando’s eyelids grew heavy, and within minutes, he was fast asleep. Logan tucked the blanket around him and stood, feeling a mix of relief and triumph.
Jon was right—tricking Lando was way easier than arguing with him.
Over the next day, Logan repeated the process, sneaking the medicine into Lando’s tea, soup, and even a smoothie. Each time, Lando drank it without complaint, none the wiser to Logan’s clever scheme.
By the end of the third day, Lando was noticeably better, his energy returning and his dramatic whining reduced to mild complaints.
“You’re a miracle worker,” Lando said one evening, wrapping his arms around Logan as they lounged on the couch. “I don’t know what you did, but I feel so much better.”
Logan smirked, leaning into the embrace. “Just a little TLC. And maybe some sneaky tactics.”
Lando frowned. “Sneaky tactics?”
“Don’t worry about it,” Logan said with a grin, pressing a kiss to Lando’s cheek.
Lando gave him a suspicious look but didn’t push it, too grateful to be feeling like himself again.
As they sat there together, Zandee curled up at their feet, Logan felt a wave of satisfaction. Taking care of Lando wasn’t always easy, but it was always worth it.
