Still breathless and tracing patterns on her bare stomach, Mia stared into her bright grey eyes. "Clo we have been seeing each other for a couple of months. You went to the ball with me, and I don't have a reason to run anymore." She laced her fingers through the silvery brown hair and pulled her into a kiss. "Sweetheart I love you, and I want you and Quinn to move in here with me. It feels so empty when you're not here. So quiet without the two of you."
Clodagh snuggled into the redhead's arms, but her brow furrowed. "I don't know, babe. What will people say? I mean Sorscha's mum still comes to see Quinn, and she'll start nursery soon. They will talk. You know how that lot is." Mia pulled her in closer and propped herself up on her elbow. "Baby I think you're forgetting they all have been playing a game of switch lobsters and dance. That is how we got here."
Clodagh got a pained look on her face. Sorscha and Charlotte leaving them for people they thought were their friends, had drawn them together. Finding herself with Mia that afternoon had been daunting at first. Sorscha had always come home with tales of the mean redhead. She sounded rather intimidating, but she had been nothing like that that afternoon. She had been sweet and gentle. They talked for hours, and they just never stopped after that. Before she knew it, she was falling for this red head that she had barely known just weeks before.
That is how love works though isn't it. It comes out of nothing when you're least expecting it. She thought of Sorscha. For some it also dissipated just as quickly. "It isn't just the staff, babe. The parents there are brutal. They will talk." Mia let her signature mischievous grin cross her face. "Sweetheart, move in with me. Let them talk. I know you want to keep the peace, but being a spectacle is not strange to me. And I am not a stranger to any of them. Besides I have never been afraid to take what I wanted in life just because someone thought I shouldn't have it."
Clodagh pulled away and pulled the sheet around her body while she searched for her clothes. "Mia, we weren't yours for the taking. Was that what this was? Was that ... was this ... why?" Mia rose from the bed and moved towards her. "Stop! Don't touch me. Mia, I mean it." The redhead stepped back but wasn't giving up.
"Clo that isn't what I meant. Baby it isn't what I meant." Pulling her jumper over her head she turned to leave the room. "Clodagh, I meant the happiness. I meant we shouldn't be afraid to take the happiness just because there are people who think we shouldn't have it. We have already come too far and through too much Clo. I think we deserve the happiness, Clodagh. We deserve it. Quinn deserves it." Mia looked deflated as she began to dress.
Clodagh stopped in the doorway, but she didn't turn." Amelia, ask me again." Mia let a smile cross her face and moved to the doorway turning the silvery brunette to face her. "Clodagh, will you and Quinn please move in with me? Will you take this happiness with me? We do deserve it, sweetheart. After everything we've been through, we deserve some happiness too."
She pulled the redhead in at the waist and laced her fingers through her red hair bring her in for a bruising kiss. "We'll move in. We'll take this happiness with you." Mia wrapped her arms around her and pressed a kiss to her forehead. "What about people talking? Are you going to be okay it they do? Clodagh smiled at the redhead. "Let them babe. Hell let's give them something to talk about."
