Siobhan woke early and sat up rubbing the sleep from her eyes. As she looked around the not so familiar bedroom, her mind started to piece together what happened less than twenty-four hours ago. When she woke yesterday morning, she was set to marry Roger and now she was waking in the arms of the love of her life. As her mind began to race, the images came back to her mind thick and fast. Running down the stairs hand in hand with Vivian. Vivian all over her body. Roger's dead. "Oh my god Roger's dead!" As the last word fell from Siobhan's lips, an arm glided over her waist pulling her in closer as a soft kiss was gently placed on her cheek. "Yes Bon, he's gone." Siobhan turned around to face the raven-haired woman. "Morning Angel." As she leaned in to place a gentle kiss on her lips, Viv gently brushed Siobhan's hair behind her ear. "Morning Bon." She pulled her in closer and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. "Did you sleep ok?" Siobhan looked back up at Viv. "Yes, thank you." Both women laid there enjoying the peace for a little while longer before getting up and starting their day.
Siobhan sat at the kitchen island as Viv moved around the kitchen making breakfast. Feeling more comfortable than she had in a while, she was pulled from her thoughts when Viv gently placed a hand on her shoulder. "Bon you alright?" Siobhan's focus snapped back quickly. "Yeah, I'm okay Angel." Viv went back to preparing pancakes and coffee." Viv placed a cup and plate in front of Siobhan. "Here you go Bon, black coffee just how you like it." Siobhan started to eat as Viv sat beside her. They sat in silence eating. Each enjoying the others company. As Viv cleared away the dishes, she broke the silence. "So, what do you want to do today, Bon?" Siobhan looked at Viv perplexed. "I.... I don't know." Viv rushed back over and pulled her into a hug knowing she had overwhelmed the blonde. "Hey, it's okay. You don't have to decide right now. How about we start with getting dressed. How does that sound?" Siobhan pulled Viv in tighter nodding her head. "But I don't have anything to wear." Viv pulled back lifting Siobhan's chin, so her eyes met her own. "That's okay. We can go shopping and get you a whole wardrobe, and you can borrow something of mine for now."
Viv took Siobhan's hand and led her upstairs to the bedroom. She opened the wardrobe. "Here you go Bon Bon. I know they may not be your style, but you can pick anything you like." Looking through the different coloured clothes was overwhelming for Siobhan. She was only used to wearing black. Eventually she made a decision picking out a pair of jeans and loose-fitting T-shirt. "Are these okay?" Siobhan turned around to look for approval from Viv. "Bon, darling you can wear whatever you want to. You don't have to ask permission from me. I'm not going to tell you what to wear or how you should look. Ever." Viv pulled Siobhan in and kissed her gently. "You will always look beautiful to me no matter what you wear." She left her to dress and chose an outfit for herself. Viv sat at her dressing table taming her hair into a clip when she felt two arms snake around her shoulders. "Thank you, Angel." Siobhan placed a kiss on her cheek before standing straight. "How do I look?" Viv turned herself round to look at her. "Bon you look amazing but there's something missing." Viv tapped her index finger against her lips. "Hmmm." Siobhan looked at Viv anxiously. "What? Viv what's missing?" Viv walked over to her wardrobe and pulled out her familiar blue and white striped shirt. "This." She handed the shirt to her. Siobhan stood with a shocked look on her face. "Bon, I know how uncomfortable you will be feeling right now, so please take this till you feel more comfortable." Siobhan took the shirt from Viv's hand and put it on like a jacket inhaling the scents and finding instant calm in it. "Thank you, Angel." She moved forward and pulled Viv into a long passionate kiss.
They sat in the living room with Siobhan cuddled into Viv. "I've missed this." Viv traced her nails along Siobhan's arm. "I've missed this too Bon." Siobhan felt comfortable enough to voice what had been on her mind. "Angel?" Viv looked at her concerned "Bon what is it?" She sat up looking at Viv. "Angel what.... what if I can't be what Jamie needs me to be I...... I don't know how to be a..." Siobhan lowered her head "Bon look at me." Viv waited for her to lift her head before she spoke again. "Darling, he will love you, and we will face any issues together. I know you're scared, but together we've got this. Always" Viv pulled Siobhan into a hug. "I promise you Bon everything is going to be ok. Come on let's get out of here. Fancy going shopping and grabbing a coffee?" Siobhan smiled. "That sounds perfect Angel." Viv stood and left the room to grab her shoes. When she returned Siobhan was still sat in the same place. "Bon what's wrong?"
"What shoes do I need to wear?" Viv looked at Siobhan with a look of shock. "Did he choose everything Bon?" Siobhan lowered her head and nodded. "Everything." at that moment Viv realised just how much Siobhan would have to unlearn. She helped her decide on a pair of flat black pumps before heading out to the car.
The drive into town was filled with music, light chatter and the occasional singing along with the radio. Angel of my dreams came over the speakers and Siobhan smiled looking at Viv. Viv could see her smiling out of the corner of her eye. "What's got you smiling Bon?" "This song. You. You're the Angel of my dreams. You saved me." She placed her hand gently on Siobhan's leg and squeezed gently. "Love you Bon." She kept her hand on Siobhan's thigh for the rest of the drive. They pulled up outside the coffee shop. "Come on Bon let's go get a coffee and then we can hit the shops." As they headed inside, the familiar barista greeted Viv. "Good morning. The usual?" Viv smiled "Please, but to sit in." Siobhan found a table while Viv waited for the order. She looked around the coffee shop. It was a cosy little building with the familiar aroma of coffee wafting around. She felt content. Viv sat down next to the blonde. "One black americano." As she placed the cup down on the table, Siobhan giggled. Her mind going back to their first ever meeting all those weeks ago. As they sat drinking their coffees Viv had something on her mind that she needed to say to the blonde, but she had no idea how to ask her without her feeling pressured. Viv took another sip of her coffee. it's now or never Viv. "Bon?" "Yes Angel." Viv took a deep breath. "Bon how do you feel about maybe going to..." She looked into her eyes, and she could see the anxiety on her face. "How do you feel about seeking therapy?" Siobhan looked back at Viv perplexed. "Angel I....Well I had thought about it, yes." Siobhan knew she needed to heal. The effect Roger had, had on her would be difficult to navigate on their own. Viv took Siobhan's hand in her own. "Bon I never want you to feel pressured into anything so this will be at your pace and when you say you're ready, okay?" Siobhan nodded. Viv pulled their hands to her mouth and gently kissed Siobhan's hand. "So, Bon what clothes are you going to buy?" "I...I don't know" Viv reassuringly stroked her cheek. "Bon it's ok we can have a look, and you can pick out what you like. How does that sound?" Siobhan smiled leaning into Viv's hand. "Come on Bon. Let's go." Viv stood holding her hand out for Siobhan to take. She took Viv's hand allowing her to lead her out of the coffee shop. They walked hand in hand around the stores as Siobhan picked out clothes opting for jeans, various coloured loose-fitting tops, suit pants and shirts. Viv watched in awe as Siobhan went around all of the different items of clothing having the freedom to choose what she wanted in what colour she wanted. The next shop was shoes Siobhan tried on several styles of shoes, and eventually Siobhan settled on boots, low heels, and pumps in three different colours. Viv's heart filled with pride at how far her love had come in just one day. This was the start of their new life together, and Viv was excited to see where the road would lead. Today was a brand-new day for her love.
Little did they know that this was the beginning of a lot of brand-new days.
