Autumn watched Marjorie sleeping peacefully beside her. She loved this time of the morning, when the sun was first rising and everything was quiet. The way the curtains were just separated, caused a sliver of orange light to hit her sunshine's face, lighting up her freckled cheeks. Autumn smiled at the beauty of her, a peaceful smile on her slightly parted lips and her eyes fluttering in a dream. Warmth filled the green-eyed woman's body as she watched her love with adoration. She wanted to show Marjorie every day for the rest of their lives how incredibly grateful she was to have her, to have her laugh, her safe comforting presence, her smile, her beautiful kind heart. There wasn't a moment Autumn didn't want Marjorie to know just how much of a brilliant, radiant light she was for the brunette.

Autumn began formulating a plan to show her love to the woman sleeping soundly beside her. They had the whole weekend together with no other plans to interrupt them. The brunette leaned down and gently kissed Marjorie on the cheek before carefully slipping out of bed to begin her plans for their weekend.

During her relationship with Marjorie, Autumn had unexpectedly discovered her own desire for connection and comfort. Her sunshine had given the brunette a sense of safety she wasn't aware she had needed, or wanted, and a connection that she didn't think she would ever find. Growing up, for much of her childhood, without a mother and having a father like Roger, left Autumn always expecting only the bare minimum of people. Winter had been the man that Autumn had always wanted, until he wasn't. She had loved him, even while knowing she loved Marjorie. Finally being able to express her love to the brunette at a time when she was vulnerable and grieving, had shown Autumn how safe and soft love could be. While her relationship with Viv was loving and passionate, being with Marjorie would always be Autumn's home.

Making her way around the rooms, lighting candles, some scented and some to create gentle ambient light, the brunette smiled. This weekend would be about them reconnecting and slowing down for each other, but she had a little chuckle to herself, thinking about how impatient Marjorie could be sometimes, slowing down didn't always come easy to her. Autumn put on instrumental music, of some of their favourite songs and laid out a space in the living room with cushions, blankets and pillows.

Just as she made her way to the kitchen and started to get the ingredients out to make breakfast, she heard familiar steps stop at the doorway and turned with a smile towards her beautiful fiancé, 'Good morning, Sunshine,' Marjorie had a smile on her face as she made her way over to Autumn and wrapped her arms around her waist. 'Beautiful, what have you been up to this morning?' she asked with one eyebrow raised.

Chopping up the ingredients for their omelette, the taller woman smiled and winked at her lover, 'Just wait and see my sunshine,' and she pecked Marjorie's lips softly before quickly whisking the ingredients, 'Your coffee is...' but Autumn heard the brunette sigh with relief, having already found the coffee ready at the bench and sat down to watch Aut cook breakfast while humming to the tunes playing through their home.

A short while later, Autumn brought the two plates over and sat beside her love. 'Thank you beautiful, this looks amazing, as always,' they ate in comfortable silence, both smiling at each other while Autumn lazily made circles on Marjorie's thigh with her fingers. 'What are our plans today beautiful?' the blue-eyed woman asked as she cleared their plates and started the dishwasher.

'Well, Sunshine, we have been so busy lately, everything has been a bit rushed,' Autumn walked over to Marjorie put one hand around her waist and one on her cheek, their lips almost touching, 'I was hoping we could slow everything down and just focus on each other, for the whole weekend,' the brunette swallowed hard as they gazed into each other's eyes, the heat between them obvious as their lips slowly met. They broke apart breathless, Autumn held Marjorie's hand and led her to the space she had set up in their living room, only lit by the soft glow of dozens of candles. The aromas were warm and relaxing, lightly spiced but not overwhelming. The comfort and electricity the blue-eyed woman felt as she breathed in, noticing the scents, going wide eyed, as she realised that each note of the aromas was them, both of them.
