The redhead woke up sputtering as she yawned and drew in some of the silvery brown hair splayed across her face. She pushed the hair away being careful not to wake the beautiful woman snuggled to her chest. Once she had freed herself, she noticed that Clo was lying at an awkward angle. Usually, she laid with her head and arm across the redhead's chest and one leg tangled between the redhead's. She shifted herself to look past the brunette's hair and saw the chubby little fingers gripping around one of her own. The little girls touch was so featherlight she hadn't even noticed it.

She hadn't heard them get up, but she had had a fair amount to drink the night before with Shibby so it really was no wonder. She had to admit she rather liked their weekly get togethers. Siobhan always seemed to feel guilty like it was just for her, but she was finding healing in it as well. Their deal was they had to share something that had impacted them that week and discuss it before they could drink. Sometimes it all came out in a sputter and sometimes it to them hours, but they always drank after.

Clodagh liked to remind her in her best therapist tone that that wasn't the best coping skill but would inevitably flash her a smile. The way she looked at her moved Mia. Charlotte got dreamy eyed sometimes, but she never looked at her like that, and she would have punched Reece in the throat if he even tried. He knew better. She had never been interested in the 'love and adoration' with him.

Last evening after their meet up at the bar, they came back to Mia's for the New Year's Eve party Clodagh had planned. Viv, Autumn and Marjorie were already settled in the kitchen talking to Clo when they arrived. They ate, drank, and counted down the New Year. Mia didn't remember much after that.

She leaned down and kissed the top of the brunette's head before using her free hand to search the nightstand for her phone. 6:38AM. They could sleep a little longer. She doubted their guest were awake yet.

The brunette snuggled in closer to her chest as she stirred. She pulled her in tight and slid Quinn up until she was laying right next to Clo on her chest before wrapping the duvet around them and allowing her eyes to shut.

Meanwhile

Vivian was in full swing in the kitchen and trying to shoo Marjorie away. "Seriously, Jorie, please don't help. Bon and Autie have told me all about your kitchen skills. Please!" As the words escaped her mouth, she saw the look on the brunette's face. "Oh no! Not you too. Is this where Autumn and Siobhan learned that damn hurt, doe eyed look?" The brunette looked up at her. "I don't know what you're talking about. I'm fine."

Just then the blonde walked in rubbing her temples. "Why are the two of you so loud? I swear Autumn is the only one with any sense. She is sitting in the lounge quietly reading a book. Not making a bit of noise." Marjorie got up from her seat and gave the blonde a peck on the cheek, bringing a small smile to her face, before passing her and heading towards the lounge.

Vivian placed a tall glass of water and pain relievers on the the counter before brushing the back of her fingers over the blonde's cheek. "Come on Bon Bon take these, and you'll feel better soon." The blonde scowled at her but did as she was told while Viv turned back to the stove top flipping the last of the pancakes.

"Happy New Year beautiful." The brunette looked up with a smile. "Good morning sunshine. I am sorry I passed out in you last night. I know you were hoping for something ... more." She flashed her a smile the caused Marjorie's stomach to flip flop. "You are fine my love. I was content. Viv is nearly done making breakfast we should head back in." As she listened, the brunette placed the book on the sofa and pulled her onto her lap. "I can think of something I would rather eat." She playfully slapped at her chest. "Autumn!"  They laughed as Marjorie pulled away and reached her hand out to the brunette beckoning her to followed.

The four sat around the table munching on pancakes and bacon when the little family entered the kitchen. Mia looked around the table with a smile. It occurred to her just then. She wasn't alone anymore. She had Clodagh and Quinn, but she also had this lot.

"Happy New Year!" The smiles that spread around the table told her all she needed to know. It was, in fact, going to be a happy year.
