Gideon was shocked when he saw Naomi running to the school. They were just getting ready to go to her house, thinking she would be sound asleep but no, there she was, in a hoodie and jeans, panting like she was being chased by something. He quickly got over his shock, a little glad that she had made their work easier for them by coming out on her own. But when she turned to run away and stopped and he saw the new guests, he was surprised and shocked. He had never seen something like that before and it was also clear from their stance that they wanted Naomi and he knew he had to act fast. He had already told his father and the rest of the alphas that they would be bringing her tonight and so he can't afford any mistake.
He was still deviating a way to capture her when she suddenly started running at her right. He was stunned at first and just watched her, wondering if the night incident had messed with her brain because she of all people should know that she was running straight to a dead end. He had made a move when he saw the creatures going after and he was almost at her when she twisted her ankle and fell. He had wanted to help her up when she suddenly pushed herself up and started running, or rather, limping. He had to give it to her for her persistence but he also knows that if she keeps on stressing the ankle, it would swell up and look very bad before morning and so he concentrated on his leap and jumped right over her, landing in front of her just in time for his pack mates to surround her.
He saw the look of defeat on her face when she glanced around and saw that they had cornered her. He wished to talk to her but he can only do that if he shift back into human and he doesn't want to do that there. And right then, he heard her defeated voice, "please, please let me go, I haven't done anything." Her words pulled at his heartstrings, she really hasn't done anything but her fate seemed to have been sealed before she was even born.
He nodded at Jasper and ordered him in the mind link to get her before he turned away from her. Perhaps if he doesn't see her tears, he won't feel like he was doing something bad. Jasper mind linked to him that she was successfully secured on Yoshua's back and he set the pace home. He had half expected the creatures to fight them for her but the last time he had looked at them, they were just watching them and it almost felt like their work was to deliver her right in their hands. He shook of the feelings that maybe someone was somewhere dictating how the night would go and just carried on home. However, they hadn't gone far when he appeared out of thin air.
The weird boy he had seen on the first day he resumed school and who happened not to show up again in school for the past two weeks. He had always known there was something off about the boy and the fact that he couldn't really place his scent but he knew for a fact that he doesn't smell human which he had just proved to him right now by appearing out of thin air. His eyes were black, devoid of any emotion and Gideon knew instantly that if the boy is to fight, he would be fighting to kill.
A shrilling sound made him turn back to see the two shadowy creatures running towards them. He prepared his warriors in the mind link instantly for a fight but to his surprise, the creatures ran past them to the boy in front and he watched in horror as the boy moved in an unbelievable speed that shocked him and definitely couldn't be mustered by a human to avoid their attacks.
'Who is he?' he heard Jasper's shocked voice in his mind but he couldn't answer, even he doesn't know who the boy was. However, one thing was for a fact, he was a trained fighter because the way he fought the creatures was so precise and each move was detailed and carefully thought out that in less than three minutes, the creatures was subdued and they evaporated into smithereens.
The boy turned to them now and he regretted instantly why they had watched the fight instead of making a run for it. However, something shocked him, as the boy looked at them, his black eyes turned a glowing blue and his stern voice rang loud and clear in his mind.
