With no horse and no car, Lainey walked back to the stables from the hotel like she had last week with Danny, Pin, and Mia. It was a long walk and when she got there, the stables were pretty much empty. Callum and Gaby were supposed to be at their victory parade, Becky and Jade were figuring out what was wrong with the wild horses and Pin, and she had no idea where the others were.

She sighed as she kept walking and opened her phone and called Callum. "Hey, Lains, here to congratulate me?" He asked with cheering in the background.

"Callum, I know."

"You– know?" He asked, slowly.

"Yeah," she nodded, following the path through the field to the stables. "Listen, I know what your job is, he gave me the same one. Don't worry, this will be over soon, but if you get in my way I will take you down."

"What are you going to do?"

Lainey shrugged, "don't know yet. Just got away from my own uncle kidnapping me. My brother and fiance are still sick from lead poisoning and I have no clue where anyone is." Callum sighed on the phone, it was weird to hear him scared. The usually arrogant boy was broken down.

"Just figure something out and fast. I heard Zoe and Gaby saying something about Scout not doing well. A foal shouldn't be alone."

"I'm on it," she promised him.

"I have to go," he said quickly before ending the call.

"Dammit," Lainey cursed, she had absolutely no clue what to do or how to help anyone. The only way to help the herd was to give Zoe some kind of clue of where to find them.

Then, it hit her. The opening of the hotel was today, what if she sent her an invite to the opening. That would surely give her some kind of clue.

By the time that she had made it back, the stables was empty except for a few of the younger kids. Ben ran up to her with a giant smile. "Guess what?"

She forcefully smiled at him, "What?"

"Rosie's flight just landed, she'll be here soon," he told her excitedly.

"That's great, Ben. Do you know where Mia and Susie are or Marcus or Zoe?" She asked, looking around, trying to find someone a little older.

"I think they're at the opening of your Uncle's hotel opening," he said confused. "Is everything alright?"

Lainey shook her head, "You need to warn your sister. The lake's been poisoned with lead." His eyes widened and he nodded, running to grab his phone. She ran after him and he called, but shook his head.

"She's not answering."

"Dammit, we need to find the horses. They're somewhere close to the hotel, I know that–" Just then, the Breakfast club came around the corner with wide eyes.

"The herd has been poisoned?" Heather asked sadly and Lainey nodded.

"Yes, but don't worry." She looked at Ben and sighed. "We're going looking for them."

Ben shook his head, "but I've never been on one of your adventures before! This is so cool and what about Rosie?"

Lainey placed her hands on his shoulders, "there's no time, no one is answering their phones and these are people's lives at stake here, we're going. Saddle up, now!" He nodded and ran off to Blaze while she ran to Angel.

"Come on boy, we have to go–"

"How can we help?" Winnie asked. Lainey looked over to see Breakfast club following her, looking for direction. She looked to them for a second before hearing neighing from Priscilla's stable.
