Much to Emily's surprise, Jeonghan was waiting for her when their bus reached the Sebong campus. Albeit, he wasn't waiting out in the open for everyone to see but he was lingering out around in the corner near the trees, so that it looks like he was just loitering around.
Emily herself would've thought he isn't here to see her if it weren't for the fact that Jeonghan had been texting her every thirty minutes, asking updates for the whereabouts of their bus's location. She had almost not been able to take any nap.
"See you later girls," Coach Ma said, bidding everyone goodbye, "Good job and enjoy your day off tomorrow. I'll see you at the pool on Wednesday."
Little by little everyone started heading off their own way, either to the cafeteria, to their dorms or to a class. Only Emily lingered behind, pretending as if she's texting on her phone so that none of the girls engage her in a conversation and once she became sure that everyone is gone, Emily slowly walked over to where Jeonghan is standing alone in the shadows.
"Hi," She said, feeling a wave of butterflies in her stomach as she approaches him.
Jeonghan looks up at her, a small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth as he replies, "Hey,"
There is a brief awkward silence as Emily stares at the ground, not knowing what to say when Jeonghan suddenly pulls her into a hug, engulfing her into his arms, which have a surprisingly strong grip despite his lean figure. A few moments later, Emily slowly lifts her arms and wraps it around his back, feeling comforted. She cannot remember the last time she was hugged like this.
"Oh" A soft gasp escaped her lips as Jeonghan's flowery scent began to overwhelm her sense.
"I'm so happy for you," Jeonghan finally mumbles into her beck. Emily smiles and says, "Thank you."
"What are you doing here? Don't you have class?" Emily asks as they break away.
"I do, but..." Jeonghan shrugs his shoulders.
"You shouldn't be ditching class," Emily says.
"There isn't anything there for me to learn that I can't learn later," Jeonghan says nonchalantly. It probably is true anyways since Jeonghan is one of the smartest people Emily has met. He pretty much only attends lectures to fulfill the attendance requirement.
"Well...you should be attending for me?" Emily says, unwrapping her arms around from him and Jeonghan too lets go.
"For you?" Jeonghan repeats, confusion etched in his eyebrows.
"Yes," Emily says, "To teach me. Not everyone has a brain like yours."
Jeonghan smiles and says, "I could teach you either way. Are you going to class?"
"I probably should," Emily says, "But...I'm going to go just head over to my dorm and sleep. I deserve it, don't you think."
Jeonghan smiles down brightly at her and rests his arm on her shoulder, agreeing, "You do. I am really happy for you."
"Thank you," Emily smiles faintly, "I'm happy too, but..."
"But?" Jeonghan presses when Emily stops speaking.
"Well...things are just going to get more intense from now. I've only gotten my foot through the door. Now I need to get my body through it as well," Emily says, "But I know I can do it. If I came this far, I'm not stopping now."
"That's my girl"
Emily can't help but blush.
My girl.
